Paladin scepter staffmods...

So, I'm relatively new to classic after playing expansion for roughly 6 years. I've learned quite a lot in the past month or so, but there's still one or two things I don't know.

For instance; paladin scepter staffmods.

I'm making a lld smite, and I really need to know if holy shield/smite spawns on them. I already know fanat doesn't (What a shame)

Alas, Holy Shield doesn't spawn on scepters.
There used to be stories about this very rare, once in a blue moon exception, where mods are rolled, then evaluated if they are allowed and rerolled if they are not allowed. If this goes 'wrong' 7 times, it will accept the roll after, even if it contains Holy Shield. Since I have yet to see such a scepter on battle.net ladder, I cannot verify if this is actually possible.
So to all the people out there who happen to find a scepter(any scepter) with holy shield. Hold on to it.

Yeah, Krischan told me about what you're talking about. Subsequently I've given up haha. He said it was about a 1 in 100,000 chance.
