I have only 1 Paladin, and he is hammerdin. So i want to make some new type.Melee fighter for ubers.
I need some advice about the whole setup/skills/items.
PS: I have some stuffs like : gores, draculs, delirium helm,LW pb, Coh,4 sox vortex shield, verdungo, mara's and few bk rings (i think i have the gear for a fighter)
thx !
If you want to just do ubers, then change the helm to something else (Kira's is a nice cheap option). If you don't get Kiras then you will need to use a ravenfrost. Other then that the gear should work ok.
If you want to do other PvM too, then LW PB just isnt that great, it doesnt do enough damage. Keep it on switch for bossesw and get a Grief, its so much better for general PvM. And still switch the delirium, you don't need it.
As for stats, enough str for gear, enough dex for max block WITH holy shield on, rest in vit.
Skills
20 sacrifice
20 zeal
20 Fanaticism
20 Holy Shield
1 in all prereqs
Rest in either defiance or resist lightning
Ok,but what shield ?
Exile ,or Zakarum.
And what is better, smiter or zealer ?
I haven't been on these forums for quite some time now (a year now, I think), so I don't know of any minor changes over the past few months.
Go one point Smite and the rest into Zeal.
Spending excessive skill points into Smite will decrease your versatility in non-single target situations (AKA every other situation). Since UT is predicated on Open Wounds and Crushing Blow (and consequently a Smite that never misses), there's no point in putting more points into Smite just so you'll do more damage.
Alternatively, instead of maxing Zeal and its synergies, you can also consider pouring points into Charge (Vigor and Might), with Fanaticism with spare points into Zeal.
Why? For one, Sacrifice is a useless skill in most situations. Putting points in it for the sake of ONE synergy isn't all that wise.
Second, Charge serves as a short burst for combat (that a lot of combat fighters tend to lack), and since you're already running ITD items like Last Wish and/or Grief, and stacking attack speed skills/items, you won't be missing the extra damage by putting less points into Zeal.
And who doesn't love moving fast with Vigor?
Last, whether you want to run Exile or HOZ is up to you. If you're not running high resistance gear, HOZ is definitely going to be a recommended choice. Personally, I run Exile and stack tri-resist dual leech rings/amulets, and found myself a high resistance torch/anni.
