This may be helpful, configuration of pidgin to access diablo3inc chat:
Punkonjunk: Accounts>Manage Accounts>Add>Protocol:IRC>Server:irc.quakenet.org
give yourself a username, add the #diablo3inc to the list, babam, good to go

Punkonjunk: then click join a chat, join #diablo3inc and then click conversation, then click add... you can add it to your chat/buddy list!

To join the chat channel with pidgin, click buddies, join a chat... and type in #diablo3inc
