Well it depends. I'm sure some progamers view it as just another job, just as some athletes do, but I do think quite a few enjoy it too!
Well there are a lot of progamers outside of korea now too. But up until SC2, it was sort of a segregation going on in that most korean progamers didn't leave korea for tournements, and foreigners didn't travel to korea for tournements. >_>
One exception was Idra though, who was part of a korean team and IIRC lived in korea. Although at the time of SC1, he was a bottom b list player or something from what I've heard, while now he is at least outside korea considered the number 1 zerg player, and pretty sure he ranks in top 5 or even 3 zerg players in the world. I guess he benefited from training with his korean teammates!

Yea, you can't deny the Korean power.
I was going to marry a Korean so my kids would at least get a +5 to gaming, but it was a no go.
I married a HAC for the +5, but she is Chinese and I don't think it works
