In Diablo 2, there's an angel around your Life orb and a demon around your resource orb. Now it's the other way around. Why is that?
Because World of Diablocraft rabble kottick gorble activision blabble quackle moneygrub ruin casual noobs.

So they're alternating places with each game? Why can't they just pick one spot and stay there? Didn't they ever learn to sit still in school?
<insert a wall of text detailing how these changes are divine proof that JWilson has ADHD, is stupid, and smells>
It makes more sense this way to me. Humans getting their toughness from demons and their magical abilities from angels.
I'd say demon on the right makes sense because all but monks have a less than divine source of power: rage, arcane, hatred and voodoo. But also, health leads to death, so IDK.
The demons will be draining your health, so to make the game harder, they placed a demon close to your life orb.
The real reason is unions. Angels and demons have to handle the orbs in shifts.
because demons and angels both wanted to control your life and they made a pact that one of them got to control your life in diablo2 and the other one in the next game and angels won the initial coinflip.
C'mon. They're switched in every game. It's a tradition that must be kept.
One holds your life, the other your soul.
