I've been trying to organize my stuff that is on my various bank characters. I create a game, keep it open for five minutes, and then quickly log back and forth between characters to move stuff to where I want it. It seems that if I switch characters 4 or 5 times within a short span of time, I get locked out of battlenet. (Unable to connect message)
Thankfully, this has only cost me an eth rune so far in losses, but I'm scared to try to move anything if I"m going to keep getting locked out after 4 or 5 character switches. Is this a known problem, a deliberate 'feature' that blizzard created, or am I just unlucky?
It is deliberate, and it is because you are switching too fast. When I'm muling I easily change characters sometimes 20 times or more, I have a simple system. I stay in game at least 20 seconds with each character, and after switching, I wait 10 seconds before re-joining the game.
I don't know the exact algorithm that b.net uses for handing out temp bans, but doing the above I have never gotten one.
Im also careful when I join games, during muling. But I use 2 different pc's/accounts.
20 games/hour is max. Join 21 or 22 games within an hour, and that will get you a tempban for 12hours.
3 games joined/min. As magicrectangle says. I never swap characters in less then 30 secs. If you join w +3chars in 1 min. You get a dc. But you can relog in 10-20 min.
Peace
Thanks for explaining this. I wish Blizzard would have seen fit to have this information displayed on the screen when they lock me out, all I see is that I'm unable to connect, and that I "might need to connect to the internet first before logging onto battlenet."
