    Coming Back to D2

It's been a while since I played this (haven't since about 3 months before WOTLK came out.)

So I decided to DL this from my B.NET account, only thing is I am really out of the loop on things like a solid MF character. I've been toying around with a Necro but the Fishymancer build is pretty boring. Just stand back and let the skeletons do all the work and just lay down curses with CE every now and again.

So I am looking for a different character to play with. Just don't know what.

I would suggest a WSK Amazon (aka fishyzon). It is really funny and very item independant.

Mouseman's explosionmancer seems nice too. And by nice I mean awesome.

    Hope that helps.

I don't find fishymancer boring myself, but it is a little more passive than most builds. As kartongen says fishyzon is more active, and almost as gear-independent as fishymancer.

Explosionmancer requires a little bit more in terms of gear for hitting FCR breakpoints and getting a decent rank on bone spear, but it isn't too bad, and bonus points because you can just respec your fishymancer instead of rolling up a new character.

I also really like a trapsin or kick/trap sin for MFing. (basically choosing between fireblast or dragon talon for dealing with light immunes - the pure trapper is less gear dependent)

Well... I had an idea for a different sort of spin on a solo Fishymancer. Been playing around with it and it seems to be working pretty well so far. No real deaths to mention except for a few lag-caused ones.

    1 Amp Damage
    1 Decrepify
    2 Prereqs
    11 CE
    1 Prereq
    20 Raise Skeleton
    20 Skeleton Mastery
    20 Summon Resist
    20 Skeletal Mage
    10 Revive
    4 Prereq

    Stats
STR - Enough to equip gear.
    DEX - Base
    VIT - Everything else.
    ENG - 70

Gear... Nothing worth mentioning yet. Except Marrowwalk, Mage Spike and the Arachnid belt.

EDIT: I may take a few out of Skeletal Mage to bump Amp up to 10.

eeee why is CE not maxed? Skeletons' job is to stand around and soak up damage, your merc's job is to make a few corpses, and your job is to cast corpse explosion on those corpses.

Mages are pretty worthless. IMHO the AI alone makes them not worth using unless you have enigma. Their damage is pretty pathetic too.
