Re: Diablo 3 Supported Video Cards

Hey guys I just checked the list and I noticed my video card is on the "Medium Section" Medium ATI Radeon HD 4650. So Is medium on the safe side or would the game have any lag or anything like that slow downs in gameplay etc.

I haven't pre-ordered the game yet planning on doing so today but am not sure if I should go ahead with that since im not so sure if the game will run smooth or not on my pc.

Any help will be much appreciated thanks!

Re: Diablo 3 Supported Video Cards

I saw my graphics card was on the High list but was wondering if it would run well on my computer with older specs?

CPU: AMD Athlon II x4 630
    RAM: 6 GB DDR3 @ 533 MHz
Graphics Card: ATI Radeon HD 4850 512 MB

Thanks in advance for any help.

    High ATI Radeon 4870 HD

Also that list seems pretty much bogus to me, since D3 Beta worked on my laptop which has integrated graphics.

Re: Diablo 3 Supported Video Cards

    Hello there !
I need someone to help me to to figure things out a little bit.
    My specs are:
    Intel Core i7-740QM 1.73Ghz
    4 GB RAM
    Nvidia GeForce GT 425M

Will I be able to run Diablo 3 ? When I checked the lists of supported/unsupported videocards I didn't find my GT 425M on either of those.
Since my laptop runs Starcraft 2 on high settings very well, I assume it should work for Diablo 3 as well, right ?

Your assumption shall be proven correct (although I'm not sure if you'll be able to use every settings on high or if you'll have to drop some one notch, especially if you want smooth gameplay in the more crowded areas of the game).

    Hi Tilitoon,

Thanks alot for responding on the other thread. I just have 1 more question, with my video card ranked in the Medium section do you think i will be suffering from any sort of lag or slowdowns during gameplay. Or would that occur just during online play? Also if i was to upgrade my 4650 video card do you have any good recommendations.

Thanks again your feedback is much appreciated!

Unfortunately it's the kind of thing that would be hard to tell right now, before we get our hands on the actual retail version. The Beta did suffer from "random" lags / slowdowns even for some people with decent hardware. By "online play" I assume you mean, when playing with 3 other people instead of playing alone, since the game is online-only anyway ? It should be playable pretty much at any time on medium, maybe you'll get a 1 second slowdown if your group kill something like 15 monsters with one hit, but it won't be that big of a deal. Starcraft 2 is played at medium / high with that video card so it should be fine for DIII.

With this config will I have a good experience of the game ? (More then 45 fps if possible )

    Thank you for any information

Awesome! Thanks again for the prompt response Tilitoon. I got my fingers crossed hopefully I don't encounter any gameplay lag or slowdowns. 1 more thing I noticed you mentioned StarCraft II, are the requirements more or less the same to run the game with a 4650 HD graphic card.

Yea I did mention Starcraft II because it's been known to perform about the same as DIII. SC2 does scale a bit better though, meaning you can play on low with a config just a tad bit weaker than D3, and it has an Ultra setting (which D3 doesn't). So if you look at SC2 benchmarks at low, medium and high presets, you can expect pretty much the same framerate in D3 (provided the weird anomalies are gone in the retail version).
