I've been trying to fill the Diablo 3 void lately with some Torchlight. The game (graphics wise) seems to look very similar to Diablo 3 in terms of textures, lighting, etc.
For those that have played the Diablo 3 Demo/Beta builds, does it feel as smooth as Torchlight?
Do you guys think that Diablo 3 might have similar system requirements to Torchlight?
I think D3 will have a much higher system requirement than TL (and TL2).
Especially the polygon counts on characters, monsters, and objects look to be much higher in D3.
From what I little of d3 I have played, it is better than torchlight in all aspects (some who miss the old skill system would probably argue that with me).
Torchlight could be played on a netbook, I doubt d3 will have that feature. It is safe to say that the requirements for D3 will be whatever the standard gaming rig is these days. I plan on upgrading a little bit for this game after feedback from the beta comes in.
D3 probably well be more demanding on the processor than your video-card while providing the means to turn on effects to utilize your card which increases cpu performance to a lesser extent.
I think it will be like SC2 but a little less demanding since Starcraft is a bit more a "manly" game than d2![]()
I think it's safe to assume that my rig, running SC2 on all High-Ultra settings with little issue would be alright running D3 on high settings, then.
D3 should have higher requirements. No worries Blizzard will make sure you can test run the game on a commodore 64!![]()
