Throw Barbs?

After playing throw barbs in D2 I was looking forward to playing them in D3. I'm not completely familiar with D3 yet but so far I don't see anything about it. Has anyone come across some info - will there be throw barbs or not?

I don't think there are any weapon in the throwing category this time around. There are skills like weapon throw and ancient spear, but those can be done with your melee weapons.

Ranged barbarians are gone. We'll get death grip though.

I think thereŽs a spear ability, which pulls the enemy close to him, but I am not sure heŽll have any abilities besides that

Hmm... I know the Barbarian has Throw Weapon. That is the only pure range attack that he has, but he also has Seismic Slam(Ground based, cone shape, AoE skill), which seems to have decent range.

I fear throwing a barbarian would only anger him. It's not recommended.

we have actually seen weapon throw on several beta streams. here's what i saw (spoiler tagged for those who care):

i'm pretty sure i've seen this effect twice now on streams. it does not require a 'throwing' weapon as far as i know/recall. from what i could tell from watching, it simply took whatever the barb's weapon was and hurled it at the enemy. i do not recall the damage being too amazing, but i think it has a slow effect of some sort.

You'd probably run out of fury trying to use just weapon throw, but with the right passives and runes, you might be able to keep it up for a while.

Weapon Throw: (active)
Cost: 20 fury
Hurl a throwing weapon at the enemy for 210% weapon damage and slowing the movement of the enemy by 50% for 4 seconds.

No Escape: (passive)
Increases the damage of Ancient Spear and Weapon Throw by 100%. In addition, killing an enemy with Ancient Spear automatically resets the cooldown, and killing an enemy with Weapon Throw returns 20 fury.

The flavour text on the No Escape skill is class: Run if you must, but you will only die tired.
