Question about affixes.

Another newbie here! Hello all!

I have been looking around and haven't found anything that could give me a clue. I used the A5 quest to add a socket to The Gladiator's Bane so I could insert a perfect diamond. Inserted it and for my surprise nothing has been added to the description rather than now socket [0] is listed as socket [1].

The merc resistances are neither affected when he wears the armor (my sorc doesn't have that much strength). Is a bug or is something happening backstage that I'm not aware of?

A pdiamond only adds a bonus to resists if put into a shield. In an armor or helm it adds attack rating.

If you want to add resistance to a non-shield item you have to socket it with a rune or jewel. For resistance jewels can be inserted anywhere, but for runes they must be in your armor, helm or shield.

Its for blocking Mephisto, so prolly an Ort is a good shot, cheap and 30% lighting...

Hehe, an easy mistake to make, but itīs not as if the game isnīt telling you. Itīs clearly written when you look at a gem.
