Thinking of joining D2

Hey all, just registered simply to ask, is it worth Joining D2 now? i have never played it at all, so understand none of the terms

I like the looks of the game, very 'myth of soma' ish. The main problem is, with diablo 3 out soon, well in the next 12 months, will i have time to play diablo 2, as i hear it is very time consuming?

I think it's worth going through the game at least once. If nothing else, it may prepare you better for D3, when it ultimately comes out. Welcome to our forums!

If you play with someone/friend(s) = much better and faster
First, convince/find your friends (battle.net) ^^
Second, search about Diablo II's known in-game events/issues/scams

I guess I would ask "Why not"?
If it's just time consuming part I think it would be worth giving it a try. It is a very old game to have this many people still playing it; so there must be a mass appeal to keep this kind of longevity going? There are also many players that play - take a long break and then come back so again there's some appeal even to those that stopped playing at some point.

I just started d2 again after a 6 year hiatus. still very enjoyable, although the bots are annoying on battle.net

There's still a lot of people playing online to play with if you do and you'll definitely be able to do a lot in d2 before d3 comes out.

There are almost no bots on Asia. Might have a bit of latency though.
