Whirlwind only seeks targets within a 3 1/3 yard radius, which is a little less than melee range 5. For players, melee range = target size + rangeadder, and the vast majority of targets are size 2 or 3.
This means there's no difference between one-handed rangeadder 2 weapons (like Berserker Axes and two-handed swords) and two-handed rangeadder 4 weapons (like Great Poleaxes) when attacking size 3 targets (for players, melee range = target size + rangeadder, so melee range = 3+2 = 5), and little difference when attacking size 2 targets (melee range = 2+2 = 4: rangeadder 3-4 weapons only have ~17.4% larger target area).
Personally, I feel the bigger issue is having to go back to town every 10 minutes for repairs. Indestructibility in weapons is a very convenient mod to have.
Yeah repairing is annoying...most weapon dependent builds have some issues with such things...some more then others...i know i have that issue running alot of melee builds often have to repair before i can even get from the wp to chaos...blegh...
Dual weilding allows you to get stats/mods from 2 weapons instead of just 1. A BOTD GPA will blow anything up in the game, but 2 zerker axes or collosus blades is the better choice.
I personally use a ebotdz and a stormshield. If your going to use 2 1h'ers, I recommend using 2 different ones instead of the same runeword or uniques.
