I have made this uber zealot, but I still have trouble in Uber Tristram with Meph.
Here's my gear (based on CB). Please tell me where I'm going wrong!
Weapon: Last Wish PB (Do I need BOTD?)
Shield: Um'd Up'd HoZ. (Do I need an Exile?)
Armor: 1600+ def. Fort (28 res.) (Should I go with AP CoH?)
Gloves: 10 LL Dracs
Boots: Up'd Gores
Helm: 1os COA /w 40/15 jewel (should I go for the 2os Ber'd COA?)
Rings: +19 Dext. Raven.
8 LL, +10 res. rare
Amulet: 27 Mara's
Weapon Switch: 6 BO CTA, Pally Spirit
With Holy Shield and Frozen Armor (from Fort), my def is a little over 25K
My attack rating is a little over 6K
My damage is something between 3-4K.
A little under 2K life with BO.
All of the "important" zealot skills are maxed out except for defiance (which is lvl 19 or something).
Now, I still have 2 opportunities to reassign skills and stat points from Akara. Should I just switch to a smiter? Orrrr can my zealot be salvaged with this gear?
It's kinda sad to imagine a character with that expensive of gear not being able to do Ubers... in comparison my gear is junk, and I have zero difficulties running the Ubers or the Keys and Organs before that.
About the only mistake I can think you might be making would be something simple, like forgetting to pre-buff with Fade before going in, or not aura swapping to Salvation for Meph, or not using your 1pt Smite when on a Boss.
If you are curious on how low my gear is, I run with: Azurewrath, Guillame's, Metalgrid, Guardian Angel, Spirit Ward (high block, high def, don't need to swap armor to pre-buff Fade), Verdungo's, Nature's Peace, Ravenfrost, Drac's, and Gore's. Inventory is all resist charms, and when Fade is pre-buffed I am not only almost 25% dmg reduction but I also get to stay 90/90/90/90 resist all even under Meph's Conviction aura.
IMO that setup is far far superior to the gear setup you listed, at least for the specific task of Ubering. You need to do a test and see what your resists are while under Meph's Conviction. If you don't stay at least 75 resist all even while you are green, then you need to either strictly get in the habit of pre-buffing Fade and load up on resist charms, or you need to make some fairly major gear changes.
I know I sure didn't add points to Blessed Aim for the synergy, mostly because I knew it was gonna be a hybrid build.
Normal monsters get Zeal'd, and don't need so much AR. Nasty Bosses get Smite'd, and AR isn't an issue. So instead I started dumping extra skill points into Defiance for synergy, and even without attempting to "UP" any of my items yet, I am rocking close to 16,000 Defense.
It's a nice little chunk, and along with max block and Lifetap makes you feel invincible ;-)
