Hence why I was getting raped.

My super defense cleansing bear was working good, despite mainly mage(+skill) gear. Got bored of it though. I might have another round at building healadins later.

Re: Help me create a Purificator (Cleansing based martyr)

I went ot Hell difficulty, and I think I've underestimated the need of lifesteal. I think I'll never be able to use the angelic-combo on Hell with the equipments I've listed. Instead I'll need lifesteal rings, maybe amulet too (but I'd like Metalgrid as amu), and Amn rune in weapon.

I aquired Fleshripper, and the Deadly Strike on it do causes double damage what effects the paladin too. Combined with the fact that it is an elite weapon (higher base damage), makes it difficult to start Hell difficulty (so instead I still use yet Ginther's Rift).

Now on the Abbot mentioned here earlier: I wouldnt sacifice the offensive power above 100 PDR.
But a question to this: PDR works against Sacrifice? I mean the selfdamage part is lowered by the PDR on the equipment?

EDIT: I solved my lifesteal and resistproblem with a Tal mask (forgot about that before).

Question: Deadly Strike causes Sacrifice make more damage to me, or not?

Re: Help me create a Purificator (Cleansing based martyr)

    Ok, experience on Hell:

Prayer is nice to have, but no longer a good skill. 24+% lifesteal is required as basic (you get exactly that much with the equipment listed before).

Monsters what don't allow you to steal life makes life miserable, so A2's skeletons are insanly annoying. I have to switch on basic attack to have at least a chance.

PI is a problem, but oh well. (but with the A2 crazyness respecing to vengeance for that part seems VERY attractive)

    Currently my skills:
13 hard point in Cleansing (it decays too much after that)
10 hard point in Sacrifise (if you have the lifeleach you can max it, but beware, with high damage, especially in party you could kill yourself with one hit, so 10 point seems safe)
10 hard point in Holy Shield (I always looked on this as a mastery because of its decay)
20 hard point in Prayer (the more the better, but after a point it isn't that worthy to invest into "skills)
5 hard point in Redemption (it reliaby destroys bodies)

I have 20 unspent skillpoints I'm currently level 76), and I suffer from lightning based monsters (I have almost 250 vita, 1000 life and exactly 75% allresist currently), so I think I'll spend my points into Resist Lightning to incrise my resist.
Any skillpoint I'll aquire later, seems to be at best place in defiance for synergie-purpose. Or maybe Holy Shield until there is space for the 1-2% additinal blocking.

Question: if I'm cursed, will Sacrifice damage me double?

I don't know what merc you are using, but I used a Prayer merc with an Insight (gives regen from both Prayer and Meditation) along with my own Cleansing. Against physical immunes I used a Lawbringer runeword on switch for ctc Decrepify. Slow and reduced enemy damage is pretty good as well.

For you 20 extra points, I really like Convserion. It gives amazing crowd control. Also, a high level Smite has a pretty long stun duration.

considering Redemption heavily synergizes sacrifice and also can heal faster than Prayer/Cleansing

i would just use Redemption, if you can get 25% leech you should have no issues, you should also invest a point in sanctuary to leech off undead

Re: Help me create a Purificator (Cleansing based martyr)

Thx for the advices, Irefresh now:
    - I was too lazy to make a Lawbringer when I have Azurewrath in stash. Ok, my fault, would have been a good idea. (Btw interrestingly skeletons in A2 aren't that many. Things like this only notices themselves when you pay specific attention. The tombs are still annoying though. Worst danger is ghosts; dolls shall be avoided at all cost.)
Currently I just switch to no-skill attack, and strougle thorugh. (I could afford 175 Dex, what gives with all my stuff an acceptable hitchance. But a hitchance calculator would be nice with including the -X% target defense part.)
    - My merc is Holy Freeze for crowd controll. Currently he wears a Blackleach Blade, and I'm very satisfied with its weaken proc (effects big area, helps against hugh fast crowdes).
On Hell the Prayer aura isn't that good anymore. It saves a couple of potions, and helps escaping, but the monsters easily outdamage the regeneration according to my experience (I never tried Prayer merc with Insight). Until Nightmare Prayer is definitly a cool aura though, one of the bests on the safe side.
    - against PI a torch is a big help, but even without it I'm ok. It is just ultimately slow, and bosses have to be avoided if possible.
    - I don't like Conversion, not my taste.
    - Redemption and any other statboosting skill shall be avoided I say (also pay specific attention on the damage-output in party). If this character would be hit hugh (those "1 hp remained" situations), an accident attack on anything would be fatal (I usually not go below 400 hp, what is ca. twice the hp I selfdamage max).

In the end I spent 20 skill into Resist Lightning. It makes life much easier if you ask me (even in A1 the Tainted were dangerous, so I went the safe side considering souls).

    For later consideration:
I'm currently lvl 81, in A3, before Travincal. Highest STR-requirement on item: 95 (this will be final).
With all my remaining points I might spend on resist fire (thinking on FE monsters and Diablo, so this is most likely), or maybe defiance.
When I'll be at the point of respec (and assembling Sanctuary rw - I'm still hope for an exceptional pala shield with 3 sox, but my patience have its limit, and that 75 def (as difference between the shields' base defense) isn't that big issue if you ask me) I think I'll lower my HS's level to the point just reaching 75% block.
