It's been dying for a while. I think the horse is all but beaten into a tiny pile of dust that will soon be blown away by Diablo 3, judging by what happened to SC.

Quite the pessimist! When in fact Sc:BW has been making a comeback after the initial big desertion at SC2 launch. There are new western tournaments coming up(ISL!!!), and the korean progaming scene continues to revolve more around the first game of the series. iccup has also stabilized or is growing in bw users, so D2 definitely has hope post D3 launch, good gameplay never ages.

No, rebalance the game and fix the bugs. Classes like the barb for example are pathetic next to the sorceress. Obviously additional things could be added as well.

D2 has been fixed for along while now (solo or group, lots of players to party up with, numerous end game instances, hard mode charm that lets you up the level from 1 - 11, 40 odd sets to find and use, crafting at end game to get the best out of armour/weapons and jewels, new monsters and skills to fight them with, level cap to 120) this list can go on and on.

Once you play this d2 then you will never go back to vanilla.

Well, none of those mods are supported by this forum, that's why I didn't mention them. And the Uber event is not correct anyways, they do not have the proper code for it, so it is not the same. I am not much of one to play modded games, I have only modded a game once, and that was an old NES game, not that I think its necessarily wrong, but I just like to play the game the way the designers had it in mind.
