First off I'm not a Diablo 2 noob, I've been playing over 9 years. I just got a computer and for some reason in my configure controls it wont recognize my mouse wheel. The weird part is this is the same mouse i was using on my old computer. Any help would be appreciated.
I think I might remember something about this one... because I was in the same boat as you, coming back to D2 after a long break and also having a new operating system.
Right-click on your Diablo2 executable, choose Properties, and browse the tabs looking for the setting that lets you launch in "Compatibility Mode". Select Windows XP service pack3.
Hope this helps some... I am almost certainly 99.99% sure that this might possibly be somewhat related to your issue =p
p.s. I am using Win7. You actually have to right-click the D2 link, and then again right-click the D2 icon in the little window that pops up, and THEN choose Properties.
