Hello all duellers,
SPF PvP scene need to write another part of history so here it is
Description:
Tournament will be based on BM HLD duels
Tournament will start something around 15-25 January 2011 and will end one month later cca on the end of February 2011
Each duel will be a best of seven match conducted in the Blood Moor on Hell difficulty.
Points for the round robin will be assigned as follows:
4 wins = 6 points
3 wins = 4 points
2 wins = 3 points
1 win = 2 point
0 wins = 1 points
Participants will be ranked according to these points at the conclusion of the round robin phase. In the case of a tie in points, the winner of the head to head match up will receive the higher rank.
I did not choosed format of tournament yet beacuse It will be dependent on number of players assigned to tournament.
But should be somethink like 3 groups with 4-6 players (dunno how many partecipants I can expect) , from that groups best 12 will advance. Next phase will be 2 groups 6+6 players.
From 2nd phase 8 players will advance to elimination phase (1/4 finals) and then will be elimination phase up to final
If smaller number of players will be in tournament, 1st phase will be vanished![]()
Time schedule should be somethink like 2 weeks for phase 1 , 2 weeks for phase 2 and 1 week for elimination phase (play-off)
so it should be done during cca 5 weeks but can be much more faster, dunno![]()
Rules:
Standart BM rules
Duels take place in Hell Blood Moor. You leave this area after the duel has begun and you lose.
No mercs, potions, wells, or shrines.
Mana pots are allowed (expet ES based sorc builds)
No recasting Cyclone and Bone Armor.
No minions that cannot be summoned in town with the exception of Decoy.
No Holy Freeze, Decrepify, Iron Maiden or Bone Prison.
No curse charges (this includes Slow Missiles). Chance to cast is acceptable.
No overabsorb. Limit 2 items per element with the standard ban on Rising Sun and Black Oak.
You can not leave game between duels with player (so you must take all stuff you need to stash), except is fix charge or leap bug
1.07 vita items are not allowed (shako, arkaines valor,...)
ATMA eth-bugged weapons (eth grief,beast,...) are not allowed - SPF allows them but for PvP it brings imbalanced advantage
You can prebuff only from items you will have in your char stash/on gear during duel - I hope this is write clear enough![]()
I will close registration list between Tuesday 11th January and Sunday 16th January and then I will put up tournament schedule and groups pool

good questions : 1) no , only one character for player even if another option could be interesting too![]()

It is about deal between 2 players but If someone will want to do that beacuse of bad ping, hosting should be switched like 2-2-1-1-1 games
so e.g. 2 games in hosting of player A then 2 games on player B hosting then 1-1-1 like that
if someone cannot host he can ask someone close to his position where he will have better ping
it was not necesary yet but USA and european communities are quite same tihs time so maybe sometime will need to do that
And first groups in 1st and 2nd phase I will try to do like 1 will be USA group and 2nd one will be european one, it is dependent on number of players from that areas![]()

What about prebuff? I see it more of a problem then some of the above banned stuff.
Two kinds of prebuff actually, sorceress can still prebuff from their respective memory staffs and other kind is +40 lite skills for 95% ES.
Other thing would be for let's say amazon. Can she use CTA and then swap it for Javelin switch? Can she use Spirit to get +2 lvls of BO for that matter?
I'm not sure if I'll be joining since it's still more then month until potential tourney. I like the idea tho.

I'm in. With no ATMA bugging it looks like no FluffyKitten, so it looks like it will have to be Sapphire. Unless Frozzzen convinces you that ES prebuffing is bad.
If worst comes to worst I can always take BearChest and have the privilege of a moral victory even when crushed 6-1.
PS. Please don't eliminate T-Gods. Those assassin things are annoying black smudges resembling mildew.![]()

I really do not want prebuffing like that 2nd one, go out to moor, BO and then back to stash this really should not be allowed
And that energy shield from memory I do not really know , I would like to let it to public opinion somethink like pool![]()
My opinion is if you want to make that prebuff ,then put your memory to inventory in place of some SCīs, you can prebuff, you will have better ES but you will have lower life or mana pool that seems fair enough for me I think
and 1.07 LoH ofc should be banned
and no reason why banned TGods, it is not so uber antilightning , lot of players used that in PvP tournaments and it is not so great, 2 enough good wisps are better
It is all about fair play if you will look for holes in rules beacuse there are lot of them, there was lot of tournaments around with rules wrote same like in this thread, and result was that never was problem with that, winners and other finalist or semifinalist never had problem with that, noone of them had feel that he need to use 1.07 LoH or prebuff ES from memory or did some things like that, I played one tournament with fire sorc and noone used more then classic hotspurs againist me so I was not frustrated from that even if I lost in semifinal
I lost beacuse exactly someone was better then me and I never complained for rules I never used more then hotspurs vs firesorc or 2 wisps againist trapsin or 95% ES againist some melee builds
So write your opinions here, we can resolve this without problems, if all of you will want some another rule then I am prefering no problem for me

Fuzz about T.God's is probably cause of my Assassin preference and the way that items shuts down any lightning traps.
Some calcualtions:
Average Trapper can hit ~10000 max dmg. Average is 5000/pvp penalty = 833 / 75 LR = 208 total dmg
With Thundergod's it reduces traps to 105 by same calculations.
That is 50% dmg reduction with one item slot. Smells extremely 1.07 LoH type item and if you add that there is 40% sorb cap it's obvious that T.God's offers better protection. Sure, go and use 2 Wisp Projectors. Even if you have 2 perfect ones it's still weaker then T.God's AND it takes you 2 inventory slots instead of one.

And as for me, I think mass prebuff is greater issue then ATMA hax, but that's just me. (read: I'd rather face Fluffy then full fledged Sapphire)

@Frozzen: your calculations are bad imho beacuse 2 perfect wisps (same as 2 ravens) will reduce damage from that 208 to 42 which is less then half of that 105 beacuse 40% absorb means 80% protection from damage same as one slot when using LoH from 1.07 and gloves and 2 rings will make you more problems like you will lose CBF from raven frost and life/mana+1 to all skill from SoJ or BKWB
lose 20 FCR from gloves or IAS is not so critic
Believe me that TGods will not save your enemy, your traps will still be enough effective![]()
I want to make best ballanced rules possible for all players and all builds but there are lot of crossroads![]()

I can see the fuss about pre-buffing. A total ban is exaggerate although.
Perhaps just reducing buffing with:
1- Can go fetch CtA to cast BO (use it to pre-buff only if you normally carry it, so pick up the body, cast it and go once to town)
2- No charms to enhance buff
