    Re: The Exposure Tournament

Decided to go with a Fanavenger. Chances of succes are slim, I'd wager. Especially given I can't make an Insight polearm for myself (easy to overlook that the runeword has a decent amount of ED).

    Re: The Exposure Tournament

Like many others, I have been patiently awaiting this tourney as well! so happy its finally started!

With that being said, and in celebration of my first ever tourney entrance, I will be trying my hand at a Phoenix Strike sin (never tried Phoenix strike, so it will be a first for both)

I'll make a great dent in her progress today, and see how much I can chip away at her on the weekend, good luck to all the lonesome adventurers out there!

p.s. Dont know how to edit the chart to add my char/ update it if someone can add my char to it, it would be appreciated!

Going with a zerker, might be a swift death awaiting me but hopefully the warcries will do me justice.

    Re: The Exposure Tournament

    OK!

I've managed to get to lvl 7, but God was it hard going! No shield really sucks for a Necro - Thank Heavens for Bone Armour or I would have died already.

BoneyM has cleared the Blood Moor and Cold Plains. He has also scampered around the Stony Field to get the WP, but did not kill anything whilst doing so. As this is single pass, he assumed that was the correct thing to do; otherwise he might inadvertently kill more than he should.

He's been very unlucky with finds so far, no chipped Topaz at all, 2 Sapphire, 3 Emerald and a chipped skull. Only 3 rares, all equipped - cap, armour and a nice throwing dagger.
    Spoiler

Blood Raven wasn't too hard - teeth worked well on her and her minions and he only had to pot a little. Alissa was easily swarmed in The Mausoleum, may she RIP.

The Cave was a nightmare - 3 packs of Cold Enchanted, 2 of them Archers. Bone Armour, lots of health pots and throwing daggers whittled the numbers down - a couple of TPs helped too!

    Re: The Exposure Tournament

I'll second DarkMatter on the slow going. I'm not used to playing untwinked single pass. I wonder how I ever put up with it. The two hags with bows who slow you down (Blood Raven and Cold Crow) really got under my skin. Everything else was relatively plain sailing. Currently swinging a Bardiche with 1-8 added lightning damage. Looking forward to Act 2 and some Savage Polearms.

    Re: The Exposure Tournament

Doing pretty good so far with 8 players setting. I mostly use normal attack with my Rare bow, which has moderate damage along with poison and cold effect. Also got a Grand Charm with 1-3 Lightning damage, better than nothing.

Coldcrow and Blood Raven were pretty hard, but managed to take them down. My mercenary got owned by Backbreaker (or Bonebreaker?) as soon as I got her.

    Areas cleared:
    -Blood Moor
    -Cold Plains
    -Cave 1 & 2
    -Burial Grounds
    -Mausoleum & Crypt

    Re: The Exposure Tournament

Beowulf has started his journey and been crushing in demon heads with little difficulty. His first real challenge came with Bloodraven, but Beowulf used his crowd control abilities to his advantage and singled her out.

Upon completion of this quest Beowulf needed a way to dispose of his new companion and quickly found his answer in this double pack of trouble. Fanat and conviction packed up in normal?!? Beowulf used a powerful combination of howl and taunt to slowly pick them apart, but if this pattern keeps up he will deeds sooner rather than later. Once he found the stony field waypoint he decided to sit down and enjoy a break from all of the bloodshed.

    Re: The Exposure Tournament

    You have Died :(

BoneyM was killed by a Carver - one of Rakanishu's minions.

He only reached lvl 12 and was on his way to try and rescue Cain, unfortunately he got surrounded and with no shield + hit lock + slow regen from health pots + Lightning from Rakanishu it was 'night night nurse' for the poor would be bonemancer.

Thoughts: I think a Boncemancer would be viable, but he's pretty hard to play for the first few levels. There is no real crowd control until lvl 12 when you get your Bone Wall (which has very little life @ rank 1, even with Teeth Synergy) and Terror. Teeth look impressive, but don't cut it when it comes to dps. They spread horribly and if you are going to get close enough to make teeth effective, you may as well melee (which takes a long time unless you get a decent weapon).

I did find some decent throwing daggers early, but they became less and less effective. Treehead Woodfist took about 10 minutes to kill, constantly popping in and out of the dark passage to throw a dagger at him or minion, only to have them heal up quickly when I had to TP to restock my potions.... I lacked poison to prevent that.

Ah well, was fun whilst it lasted. I might re-roll a diff class, let me think on it.

    Spoiler

    Edit

That didn't take long! I've decided to try again, this time with a class that specialises in Melee, rather than some esoteric idea of one
I could have gone with a ranged attacker, but I haven't made a Barbarian since 1.09, when I had a very nice dual cruel colossus of evisceration wielding WW barb for Cowing.

I'm going for a cookie cutter berzerker, mainly because I want to get a bit further into the game and hopefully actually make it into Hell!

    *crosses fingers*

I'm not sure if I'll have time or not, but I have started TheLoner, who will likely be a frost zealot with lots of utility/backup skills. Currently rocking a gemmed Large Axe (chipped skull, ruby, sapphire). Found a 1MPK ring which makes zealing much more enjoyable.
