Since you are bringing it up... I understand that this is the off-topic forum (so it's barely important here), but the issue is global, regardless of the sub-section or the thread's topic, ranging from the most serious ones to the most whimsical. I hardly feel offended, though; the problem is not of emotion, but rather of propriety and debasement. Also, I didn't mention anything about flaming, that's the 1st rule; the one I mentioned was the 2nd, about spam:
"It gives us a warm feeling in our tummies that you care about your post count and your forum ranking here at Diablo: IncGamers but if we see you posting meaningless tripe to edge up the count, or using the forum for a chitchat better suited to ICQ or AIM or a chat room we'll ask you to stop."
Chicken. My account name is my real name, or at least might be if you warped space, time, and spelling sufficiently. Besides, aren't you due a far greater hand-slapping for multiple accounts?
What kris said. There's a difference between, say, my Red-baiting, Leo being a coquette, or Saro sneering, and the various outbreaks of smappage and commercial carp that we're deluged with from time to time. EDIT - besides, they did away with the ranking system quite some while ago.

You know I'm born to lose / and gambling is for fools / but that's the way I like it, baby / I don't want to live forever!
I remember the last time this came up in a big way, the yellow troll went bye-bye. This is the OTF, Val. The OTF has it's own unwritten rules, like "All topics are liable to go off-topic at any time, for any reason or for no reason at all. This is not a bug, this is a feature."
Just let it go man, no good can come from it.
Kris, stop feeding the trolls!!
I commented on criticism on the forum rules and BTW, I can't stand it if somebody is wrong in the internet

But that's a battle you can never win! Someone will ALWAYS be wrong on the internet!
...and we both know who that "someone" is.
While that statement on its own is truthful, in context to what can be seen and read, in the totality of the forums, is disproportionately untrue. Hundreds of off-topic posts (in relation to a thread, not this particular sub-forum) can be considered as hollow and ambiguous. I've never seen anyone been banned, not even warned, about diverting a thread. What I cannot assert, though, is whether there are no sanctions due to flexibilty or out amity towards the members. Anyway, back to regular programming:
