Well as always my apologies if I offended - I do that sometime but don't mean to.
Just being myself...
So both those books in my last post are excellent Hard Sci-Fiand both are strong proponents of the view life came from the Oort clouds via Comets.
BTW:
Harlan Ellison was inducted to the Science Fiction Hall of Fame this weekend. By none other than Neil Gaiman.

Song of ice n fire: clash of kings very good so far
I'm sure it's already been mentioned, but I'm a bit into The Wiseman's Fear (2nd book in the Kingkiller Chronicles) by Patrick Rothfuss. If I ever procreate, I'm making this required reading - so good!
I haven't actually read a book since 6th grade, I'm not sure how to take this thread.
Take it as a CHALLENGE!
It's your loss if you don't.
And really? or are you just trying to uphold the image of Nova Scotti's?
I'm reading Hero of the Mist by Brian Sanderson right now. I'm only a few pages into it... anyone ever read Sanderson? Should I continue? Is he a decent author? All these existentialist questions...
They're Nova Scotians, and many of them are too busy writing books to do any serious reading! But we have our share of dirt bike enthusiasts too...
I started reading Pillars of the Earth by Ken Follett. It's quite good at describing the dark ages where a masonry worker's family roams about looking for food and work in desperate times. It also describes a monastery of monks in great detail and the religious hierarchy of the time.
Currently reading : Dresden Files : Small favor from Jim Butcher
