That's just because cycling lanes are non existent in the USA. The country is so crowded some places are impossible to go to by car so you have to use a bike.
If you saw the documentary I saw the other week you would know what I meant though. And why I said it. But I forgot you couldn't have seen it so I can't expect you to understand.
