so what do you guys think the general theme of D3 is.
D1 was a village decaying because of a demonic influence(Diablo)
D2 was the prime evils
I personally get the feeling D3 might be about the crumbling of sanctuary as a whole. it's slowly falling apart since the world stone was destroyed and the meteor in the the cinematic is a sign of this happening. so we have to deal with the forces causing this through out the game and maybe even battle angels for this purpose.

Rainbows and unicorns.
umm heaven and hell?
Theme is the main idea or message.
Maybe you mean plot which is about events.
As for plot well yea apoc is probably right and it's about a battle with or against heaven and hell for possession of sanctuary - I expect.
which makes for a pretty damn good story imo. they really seem to be putting a effort into the story this time and i for one cant wait to see it unfold
Diablo MAY be dead but the Darkness is coming again...haha
TBH the only prime evil that has been possible neutralized is Mephisto as he the only one that had his soulstone smashed. Diablo been killed twice so far but his soulstone still intact so he not dead (unless he undead in D2).
Really Diablo is sanctuary is the realm caught in a battle between Heaven and Hell (Both have tryed or thought of trying destroying sanctuary at times, Heaven would of done so if not for Tyrael)
Soulstones have no impact anymore. They only existed as a way to anchor their captive inside Santuary despite the Worldstone trying to keep them out.
With no Worldstone, Angels and Demons are free to come and go with no need for an anchor.
i sure hope it explains why they waited 20 years if they are free to come whenever they wanted
There was a civil war during D2, and the Prime Evils just reversed the Exile. My money's on another civil war where Diablo & co win, having belial and Azmodan submit.
It's at least how we can see him in A2 if Diablo either exiles him there, or uses him as a meat shield via cultists and such.
