Nice progress Robby D! You are very close to Hell countess, or do you plan to progress/level more past hell act 1 before you start running her a lot?
I have a feeling I may throw my hat into the 1.09 ring as well, there are some very cool things about 1.09 that I would like to experience. I also would really like to make some 1.10 beta RW's eventually, and 1.09 seems a far better place to prepare for that than 1.07.
Plus I want to get that VEX before you do! Nah...I'm sure that wouldn't happen.

I got GEIB_VEX to Hell Countess - When I dropped the setting to P1 from the P8 she had been doing Nightmare on, it was ridiculous - so I upped it to P3 and she's still very, very effective. Currently rolling maps for a Countess Tower near the WP, and I need to replace that Duriel's Shell with a Smoke for him for the resists.
Going 105 FCR setup (Wizzy + Lidless) for Hell - without any gear changes on her, it gives 75/75/75/68, so I can go ahead and pop a Topaz in that Shako. I don't have a TGod's yet, so I'm still saving stat points for in case that falls.
I rolled a nice Countess map with GIEB_VEX and started running her. My merc's resists were a bit low with Duriel's Shell, so I put a Smoke on him. LE bolts still hurt him, though... until a gold Death Mask dropped from Countess (I'll post a screenie in the GIEB VEX KOUNTESS! thread later), so the merc immediately became immune to lightning (actually it works like life leech for him now). Still looking for TGod's for GIEB_VEX to get the same effect with her.
She got to Countess at level 73 - at that level, Countess DOES provide XP - so I ran her at P3 to level 75 to help the merc. I have to say, with the combination of a level disadvantage and low blocking with the Lidless, as well as lowish life bulb, she takes a hit from the Archers if they spawn in the Countess' room, and it's a pain to have to interrupt spamming Nova to lob some orbs at them. Once I dropped to P1 at level 75, though, a single orb generally does the trick.
With the Wizzy/Lidless setup, mana is pretty much not an issue, allowing aggressive telestomping (and that's actually the safer way to play her - I found out the in NM CS that easing into a pack hurts a lot, but her red bulb stayed pretty full when aggressively telestomping). With nary a point in Energy, GIEB_VEX is sporting 1400+ mana. I think that may be her main setup, which means I won't be going with the Occy/SS. I still like Rhyme though, and I still like the Occy/Rhyme (currently Heater, but if a TGod's drops, that will be replaced by a Hyperion) for MF switch. I put a Topaz in the Shako and the skin... but I'm seriously thinking of spending a little wealth for the main setup...

I'm thinking the next Ist that drops goes in the Wizzy (I still have 4 socket rewards available from my rushees). What do you think - silly burning of wealth, or inspired, stylish idea? Gives me another sub-goal to add to hoping for a TGod's and the obvious Vex from Countess, and I still want 1 more Blackhorn's for ClimateChange's merc.
A 1.09 IST seems a little wasted in the Wizzy. But I think a lot of that is because of your current goals. You seem to have nearly every item that more MF would provide, so unless it is going to upgrade your speed, it seems wasted. But it would still be cool to do, and I don't think its really a big waste, that's just my 2c.
Well, I have a collection of characters with equipment requirements, so I DO need another 2 TGog's Vigors, and 2 more Blackhorn's - and my best Ribby is 278%, so a 290+ Ribby would be nice to take forward to 1.10+. I'm also missing a Torch of Iro, Gore Rider, and the legendary 1.09 wishlist - Godfather, Nat's Mark and Windforce (obviously not from the Countess, but when I finish Matting her), so there are things I would like to see drop. I would also like another Tal's armor to drop for a LF Zon.
Keep in mind, I aleady have 5 Ist runes - this would be plans for #6.
Does countess have equal chance of dropping that vex on p1 as she does on p8?
Have you documented how many runs have you ran Hell Countess? And what was the chance of a vex dropping, again? Something like 1:5000?
According to ATMA it's about 1:5700 - I have not documented my run count, but I've collected enough Gul, Ist, and Mal runes to suggest significantly more that 5700 runs. I've been running Countess for well over a year, though until recently, I haven't been on a full Countess blitz like I am now - for a long time, it was just the starting run of a MF run for all of my characters. Now I have 2 teleporting Sorcs doing Full-Time Countess running, so my run count is growing much faster than it had in the past.
I do not think player setting affects rune chances from Countess in 1.09 (unlike her 1.10+ incarnation) - I've done some testing of my own and also researched the question in archived posts on the matter. It's still obviously better to do P1 to minimize kill time, if that's the case.
I've gotten 3x Gul, 5x Ist, and 9x Mal from her. Taking the chances for each into account (1:3815 for Gul, 1:2864 for Ist, 1:1909 for Mal), the indications are 11,445, 14,320, and 17,181 runs - taking an average of that, I would estimate I've done over 14,000 Countess runs.
I HAVE gotten a chipped skull from her, which is 1:5037 - that made me boil.
