just (re)started, have questions

I played Diablo 2 a couple of years ago but lost the CD key and accidentally uninstalled it, I just got and was wondering 2 things

1. how many skill resets do I get when I finish the game
2. whats the best PvP build for a necro

3 resets for each character throughout the game.

Define "best." The typical Bonemancer that made up all the necro PvPers some time ago is still pretty much the most effective and easiest to use, although with Enigma there are some people who are trying to make telebombing PvP Summonmancers.

3 Basic resets and unlimited from use of tokens.

Poison, Bone or Summon although bone is the easiest to make.

4 Essences drop in Hell
1 from Andy & Duriel (they both drop the same Essence, but seriously no one is going to run Duriel :P)
1 from Mephi
1 from Diablo
1 from Baal

pop into cube = token, which grants one respec.
