Less funner, I once caught an elementary school principal passing porn as part of a ring of administrators. While I was threatened with legal action (because I didn't follow ineffectual, non-existent procedures to the "T"), he retired from his position without censure. Guess what? He went to Louisiana and worked as a private school principal.
After Katrina (and certainly before) their existing school system sucks so badly that they're trying pretty much anything to solve it (with very little forethought), and some of the resulting charter schools are laughable. While much of the hatred comes from public educators unhappy at losing power, the LA gov't certainly did a horrible job of contracting and establishing performance levels.
You know that original article? The claims about the KKK are sound, albeit disgusting. Why do you think Senator Byrd was a proud member? It's like the Raelians flying the swastika banner over the Long Island beaches - their claims are factually true, but their publication of them isn't winning any allies.
