I've heard of people setting the difficulty to "Players 8" as if there were 8 people in the game. All I know this does is give monsters extra hit points.
Questions about this, 1. Can this be done on battlenet?
2. What is the command to type?
3. What reasons are there to do this, other than some extra challenge?
1. No. It can only be done in single player.
2. /players 8
3. It increases the experience earned from killing monsters, as well as the number of items they drop, just like if there actually were several people in the game. But since you're alone, you won't have to share either.![]()
I have an additional question regarding /players command. If you load a SP game and set the /players x command to 5 then do your thing save and exit and load another game in the same difficulty with the same character do you have to type that command in again? This is mostly for runs like Meph runs in SP at /players 3, etc. If it does have to be entered every game, is there a shortcut way of doing so, like maybe a macro command or keystroke.
Thanks
it also effects the ammount of life monstes spawn with
and dones not have any effect on monsters that have already spawned
players setting 2-3 are the same, along with 4-5 and 6-7
it can also be done on open bnet and tcp/ip (from the server machine only, clients can only change the players setting by joining/leaving)
yes
no, its not that hard to type /players 8
You don't need to enter the /players-setting every time, it will stay in effect until you exit the game completely.
Also, the no-drops at p1-2, 3-4, 5-6 and 7-8 are the same.
