I've recently started to craft items, which has increased the entertainment the game has given me, but I have a few questions.
The things I most fequently try to craft are amulets, rings, and belts (both blood and caster) yet my character is only level 89.
I remember reading somewhere here (not to sure where, though) that the reason people say to wait until level 93 to craft is because you can use gambled amulets and they can get the +2 to *class skills* mod.
So my question is, do I have to be level 93 for the highest chance for these mods? I know I shouldn't use gambled amulets yet, but the ones I use now are ones dropped from the highest level areas, e.g. Chaos Sanctuary, Worldstone Keep, Halls of Vaught, etc. Will these amulets have a full chance of getting these desired mods since they were dropped in these high level areas?
Also, if not, then what kind of items would be most profitable for me to craft at my level? I'm in no rush to get to 93.. I'm sure I will sometime, but no Baal Runs for me, I like to take it at my own pace.
Thanks![]()
The ilvl of your craft (which will determine the affixes it can get) will be equal to 1/2 your clvl rounded down + 1/2 input ilvl rounded down. Therefore, if you are using item from high level areas, say 85, and you are level 89, your crafts would be:
(0.5*89) + (0.5*85) Rounding down that gives you:
44 + 42 = 86. So that means you'll always get four bonus mods for each craft you do, but that the +2 skills won't be available on any of them, because you cannot get that unless the ilvl is at least 90.
Once you hit level 90, half of all the amulets you gamble will be capable of getting the +2 skills prefix when used in a craft. Unforunately, there is no way to tell which half would be possible and which half wouldn't.
Alright, thanks. I'm not too far from 90... and half chance is much better than no chance at all.![]()
better to get level 94+ or best level 96+ (i am currently at 93, and trust me it gets more love for baals to go past level 93 then you might think)
Yes there is. Open your character with either ATMA or GoMule and you will see the item level of the amulets you gambled. At your level, any amulet 90 and up is a keeper.Originally Posted by Aldeth the Foppish Idiot
No. Level 93 will give all your gambled amulets a high enough level.Originally Posted by KillaMike

You know I'm born to lose / and gambling is for fools / but that's the way I like it, baby / I don't want to live forever!
OK, Mr. Smartypants. There's no way to tell at the time of the gamble the ilvl of the amulet.Originally Posted by ziambe
Right because of the formula I listed above. At level 93, the amulet has to be at least 88Level 93 will give all your gambled amulets a high enough level.
so it breaks down to 46+44=90.
