Heya! Some of you might remeber me some of you might not, but now i need your insight on this little build dilema what im haveing.
I currently have 94 blizz sorc at ladder with the following gear:
tal set (fhr jewel orb, perf topaz armor helm might re do soceting after respec tho)
nagel
wt
spirit
mages
torch/anni/gheeds/mf sc's
cta/spirit swap
When (its prettey soon) i obtain infinity im going to respec the blizzer to become a) metorber or b) light sorc. So heres the dilema
I know for a fact that metorbers are freaking good, specialy with tal set. i also know that infy wont remove almost any of the cold nor fire immunes at hell. So here come the idea of light sorc cause light immunes are so mutch more crackable at hell.
Going light means i'dd have to get 2 x fcr rings, thats not really a big prob even tho i could go for sojs with metorber (105 fcr vs 117 fcr). The one thing that vorries me most is that is the light dmg going to be enugh to kill FAST in 8ppl games (i love to raid) since im 'lacking' some +skills compared to the usual light builds. On the other hand is the metorber going to be able to do fast runs in 8ppl games? Im not really intrested to obtain crap loads of skillers..
Ofc i could just try out them both since we are able to respec now endlessly, but i also would like to know some toughts about this from you guys. I really dont need any opinions about switcihng off the tal set, i know those build too well already. So any ideas/input you might have let me know!
Well little update for everyone else who might be thinking about this. But seeing zero replys i think this will not do mutch good but i'll do it anywyas
Well i went for light and got 2 x fcr rings with some mf and minor adds. Resoceted my tal set vit rbfs cause the -res is really important when lightning immunity is broken (still working on to get 3 x -5 rbfs, currently haveing 3 x -3 ones).
She does verry well in pub hell games, cs/baal/pit all goes smooth even in 8 ppl games. Light dmg is with current soceting 5-22k and thats more than enugh if you ask me![]()
I would go light also. There's only 4 unbreakable lightning immune normal monsters in hell. As you mention there's a bunch of unbreakable fire immunes and cold immunes in hell. I recently made a count of the unbreakable normal monsters with fire immunity. 32 are unbreakable and I would suspect there's about the same number of unbreakable cold immunes as the cold res of cold immunes is just crazy. However, if a monster is unbreakable cold immune it shouldn't also be unbreakable fire immune. A metorber should be able to take down all monsters. I just like light better. I guess it's a matter of preferences in the end.
If you go infinity, I'd go light and at least make 2 gear changes.
Griffons - socketed will provide ~40% more damage
Eschutes - This is more optional, but I happened to find a 3skill 17% light one. I'm going to toss a facet in it. You lose 30-40res from hoto, but gain 20-30% more damage.
I still don't have a Storch or Anni and my res's are fine as is with my occy. I don't think the loss in res is a big deal compared to the gain in damage.
well seeing how blizz ditched the light nerf they never really tought about this totaly trough
and yes.. light with infy will be the best way to go in terms of killing speed if you ask me. theres no way metorber could do things with these immunitys compared to light. but yes, its also a matter of preferance after all and what are you planing to do with the sorc
i know the losses and gains of my build already.. the fact is that im trying to find out a deacent balance betwean light dmg and killing speed while maintainig the mf/res adds from the tal set..
if i'dd want a raw dmg build i'dd be swinging with infy scythe already and stacking up ress charms while im at it.. but thats not what this thread is about..
and esu on a sorc is horrbile choice no matter what your build is if you ask me. its just some crap adds that stack with mastery and a open socet, by now everyone shold have realized that the displayd dmg isnt what it might seem to be
If I had an Infinity, I would go full light as well with my Tal's sorc. It may not approach the damage a differently equipped light sorc has, but it will certainly be enough. I run CL/FO with full Tal's and the light damage is already enough, without Infinity. Glad to hear that you're enjoying the full light spec![]()
