Poor lightning sorc gear?

Okay thanks for the input but I'm kinda worried about my mercs resistance since I am not equipping him with anything +res. Also does prayer really help that much? Cause when I die its usually takes only a sec or 2 and prayer is heal over time? I was just thinking about just going right to defiance then later might so I can take out tomb vipers and nil when they are resistant to lightning.

Dang 25k+ mine's only doing 12k with only about 2 into nova. How much + skills do you have and how many facets?

So you're lvl 77? I'm lvl 93 and I guess that makes quite a difference. I have 18 points in nova, +17 skills and 3 x -5/+3 facets. Each +1 adds about 1.5k damage.

Well, prayer doesn't help during combat, but I just liked that it kept me at full health during teleporting. With a prayer merc there's no need to drink potions while doing the countess and the summoner. Surely drinking healing potions is just as good - I'm just too lazy. Surely a defiance merc is better at surviving compared to a prayer merc. I just liked the prayer aura for some time. You could always try the prayer merc and if you don't like it just ditch him. Yes prayer heals over time (the meditation from insight synergies with prayer). Focus on getting your merc' fire and lightning resistance up first.
