I'm a little unsure about your question so I'm going to list two possibilities that I believe your question is asking.
Change the extension to .zip instead of .7z and you should be able to open it. Once the file is open copy the ATMA V folder to your Program Files (x86) folder or anywhere you want to keep it. From there open up ATMA.exe and you should be all set.
If you are talking about saving the changes you made then click on the save icon in the toolbar and that should remove the asterisk from the name that indicates they are unsaved from the last change. My motto is to keep ATMA closed when Diablo 2 is open and vice-verse to keep from having files overwritten by one or the other while I play.
The link in the front page does not need to be installed after all. I looked into it and it was apparently already installed by Thyiad and she just copied the folder into a zip file so we do not have to update. Just be sure to get the 1.13c version. Sorry for the confusion.
having some problem with gomule, it says my character is disconnected. any ideas?
It's probably having trouble locating and/or loading the character file.
If you're using Windows 7 or Vista, they have some weird new thing they do with the my documents or something that messes a lot of people up.
Can you access the file directly? Is your Java runtime up-to-date? Anything else weird or unusual that might be related?
im actually running it on a mac..i tried deleting the character and reloading it, no luck. any ideas? also thanks for taking the time
Regards
ddkknoll, do you have an error message (such as a java exception) in "Messages" tab?

These files come from JRE, not GoMule. So maybe you need to check your Java environment. GoMule requires Sun Java 1.4 minimum. Java 1.5/1.6 is recommanded.
You can get the latest JRE from Oracle.
To check which version you have installed, in a console, type:
Code:java -version
If you would not mind listing the whole error message and not just the last part. The reason I ask is that it might be an item that is causing the error. GoMule is very picky about the items it loads. Since you already have a backup copy from deleting and reloading. Try dropping an item in game and see if GoMule loads the character.
Another check is if you are running expansion GoMule does not like classic. Are you time traveling or did you trade with anyone recently that might have? GoMule does not like jewels from prior to 1.10. Some items might not want to load in GoMule either if from a previous patch to 1.10. Do you have the latest version of GoMule? Get the version from the front page if you have not and try that.
Do you have another computer running windows or can emulate it on your mac? If you can try loading the character in ATMA and see if it loads. If it loads try muling off an item at a time instead of dropping them in the game. ATMA is less picky about the items it loads. Hope this helps.
@sylecn- i havent touched a thing, ive been back on d2 for about a week and it has worked fine so i cant imagine it being any verions of anything. also please be more specific, i traveled to the webpage you posted and was unable to navigate myself any further. im sorry if that is a tedious task but d2 software has always been a weakpoint of mine, and if it is too much i will understand.
@ladvarian- i have done no trading with anyone recently so that we can rule out, i cant run atma bc i dont have a computer with windows near me and as far as the error goes, i'd be happy to. just remembered- the only thing i have done since im back was level a few characters which wouldnt cuase any problems. i did however download the new version and do some mf with a sorc. maybe this caused a problem, something with the new version of D2 and the old version of everything else. thanks for the time.

Please dismiss my last reply. The complete error message tells another story.
From what you said, you probably are running an old version of GoMule.
You need to download the GoMule from the 1st post of this help thread for d2 1.13 patch.
