This is SP specific.
Updated (11.2.2010) - Included version folders for all classic versions. Also modified all previous version folders to include the updated version of TrenShadow and all LoD versions to have an optional modified D2gfx.dll for running multiple single-player instances.
In the single player forum (SPF), we use an approved version switcher called TrenShadow to allow us to play all versions of Diablo II without requiring separate install points, thus saving un-told amounts of GB's. However, there are only a few pre-made folder ready for use (these are found here).
I have pre-made folders for Diablo II versions 1.00 through 1.13a, including all beta's, and they are available here:
I'm not sure exactly how the "checking" process works, but if an admin could please check these files, and, hopefully, approve them, I think it could save a lot of people hassle when they want to play previous versions of Diablo II. Currently, one would either have to find the version somewhere on the net (I haven't found any, yet) or re-install Diablo II, patch to the correct version, and make the folder him-/herself.Code:1.00 1.03 1.04b 1.04c 1.05 1.05b 1.06 1.06b 1.07 1.08 1.09 1.09b 1.09d 1.10a 1.10s 1.10 1.11 1.11b 1.12a 1.13a 1.13b -- coming 1.13c -- coming
Thank you for your time in considering these files.

I'm bumping this and adding a new version of TrenShadow (specifically LaunchModGame.vbs) to the list. Basically, it makes running multiple versions easier, safer, and less annoying (no more popups, if you so desire).
You can see the specific changes I made by searching for @mattinm.
Here's an outline of the changes
noprompt - You can no add -noprompt to the end of the shortcut to stop the annoying "Do you want..." messages.
D2 arguments - You can now pass D2 arguments directly through the shortcut, exactly the same way you would with a D2 shortcut (e.g. -ns -3dfx etc).
One shortcut - *New* You now only need one shortcut. If Game.baq exists and it find Game.exe in the process list, it will automatically start from Game.exe without doing all the file moving/registry editing. If it finds Game.baq, without Game.exe in the process list, it will warn you that something might have gone wrong in cleanup.
Safe exiting - *New* When you close the main D2 instance, LoadModGame.vbs will now check the processes every second for Game.exe. If Game.exe exists, it doesn't perform it's cleanup yet, because that means another version of D2 is currently running. Once there are no D2 instances running, it will cleanup. This makes it safe to close the initial LoadModGame.vbs, click it again (it will load straight from Game.exe), play some more, then close them all out, and it will only revert everything after the final D2 instance is closed.
These links aren't working anymore. Can someone help?
