I got this once when I accidentally started 1.13 when 1.07 was running or something similar. Delete Game.exe and rename Game.baq to exe fixed it.

tried that (in diablo ii folder) and it didnt work. It now says dll:s are missing etc and that i have to run recoverfromcrash again which i do but it reports all is well (first time i ran it it recoevered alot of files).
So i guess it could have worked before a ran recoverfromchrash perhaps..
when i get this problem all diablo versions gets screwed up. Very annoying.
Well, that was my only idea. Time to wait for the cavalry it seems.

My brother said he solved the same issue with your suggestion aswell..
I have now reinstalled but the same error :(. Think ill try it again and update diablo before i put the switcher files in place again..

I got everything else working besides RRM. I copied the RRM data folder to my 1.09 folder and got red runes, but strange bugs, too. Check the attachments.
Do I need to copy RWM data files also? Will this enable 1.10 runewords in 1.09? :O
That's most likely because RRM, RWM and CRM weren't designed for earlier versions of the game.

So I have some old disks coming, will I have to make a whole new installation of D2? Or will I be able to just pop them in after I install Trenshadow? I'm currently using the digital download version.
No new installs required, just use Trenshadow. I am using the digital version for 1.13c myself and put my old CD in drive when I want to play 1.07.
