Es Maxblock light sorc.

Hi, need some opinions on this. Since my most difficult enemies are physical attackers like palas, bowas, windies and wwsins, i thought about using maxblock in conjuction with es. This would be the layout:

Helm: Griffons with 5/-5 (25% cast, 1 all skills)

Amulet: 2light/10fcr OR Maras 27

Weapon: Heart of the Oak (+3 skills, 40% cast, 15% max mana, 30-40% res, 10 dex, 20 repl life

Armor: Vipermagi (+1 skills, 30% cast, MDR 9-13, 20-35% all resists) OR Fortitude.

Shield: Upgraded Visceratuant w/UM socket (77 str req)
(72% block, +1 skills, 30% faster block rate)

Gloves #1: Frostburn (40% mana boost)
Gloves #2: Magefist (+1 fire skills, 20% fcr) (use with shako)
(The 25% mana regen is very minimal, since it adds to your warmth)

Rings: Sojs

Belt: Arachnid's Mesh (+1 skills, 5% max mana, 20% cast rate)

Boots: Eth treks

This would give me enough fcr for 117% lightning bp.

I would prebuff with a 9es memory and snowclash for chilling armor.

Skills:

Warmth: 1 pts

Telekinesis: 20 pts
Lightning: 20 pts
Chain Lightning: 1 (max this last) pts
Lightning Mastery: 20 pts
Energy Shield: 1-10 pt
Thunderstorm: 1 pt
Charged Bolt: 20 pts (max this last)
Other Lightning pre-reqs: 3 pts

Don't see enough FHR for the 86bp

IIRC: Resistance are checked AFTER on ES, so the max res will not make a tremendous difference.

You should consider changing your shield

Whistans 'Eld' would save you alot of points, at the loss of 1 sorc skill, and perhaps another FBR bp.

Gerke's Sanctuary is also worth a look; and gives you 74% block (81% with eld) not to forget the other goodies: 20-30 @, 15replife, 11-16 DR, 14-18 mdr. Lacks fbr though.

I looked much of it up from a guide, and i agree with the resists.
Hmm not sure you really need all that fhr with both es and a high blockrate?
Else i could get it through charms.

When comparing whitstans and upped visc, i dont see you save that many points. Here is what i looked at: http://www.rpgforums.com/forums/sorc...lock-sorc.html

If i am not permitted to link to alternate sites, i could sum it up by saying that upped shaeled visc gives the same fbr bp as shaeled whitstans. The only difference is the points spend, but that should be about 32 statpoints, and thats not much on sorcs. There is also the extra str req, but thats difficult to compare, as i might have str on rings, boots, amulet or so.

How about "sanctuary" in a towershield? would that be an option?

So i made her, and was really disappointed at the numbers.
~20k lightning dmg with almost ideal eq at level 80 was **** to me.
600 life and 2.2k mana also less than i had on my orber (1.1k life and 3k mana).

But the maxblock and es was OWNAGE! I could easily beat BvA's , smiters/chargers and even dreadful SKILLED bowas!

So numbers aint everything! And this build rocks !

Why not try to get to lvl 90+ first. When I use the skill calculator I can hit 25-27K damage @ lvl 90 without the % damage of griffons. Also 600 life? Is this with life skillers and 20 life scs and BO? its too low. 2.2k mana is not super bad but its not much either, but again did you use CTA to BO or not?

I used cta. Plainskillers and a good mix of 17-20 life scs. I srsly find mana/life too be overrated a bit on sorcs. If you lose life, you're probably gonna die anyway.

Although im going to remake her to a nova/ts infy es sorc.
