Everyone's favorite high-risk high-reward golem. I've never really implemented one into my build and since I'm thinking about making a new necro, I was thinking of going with poison + ice act 1 merc + insight IG. I was wondering with 60 points invested in poison skills and a few more in curses, what would be the best way to maximize my iron golem's survivability? I'm thinking one point in ig and 20 in mastery, but I just wanted to verify.
Additionally, I've noticed that bosses seem to hate gumby the most on my skelemancer, and wanted to verify as well if the AI targets the iron golem as well. Thanks!
Give Colorless Green's Iron Golemancer thread a read.

And that's what I get for not searching. Thanks bob!
Witch Doctor = top half of a Flayer Shaman = cracked-out, grass-wearing, jungle hobo = bobbing clown who vomits leaves a.k.a. Bobo the clowning village idiot. And people thought Necromancers had an image problem.
whoa. What is this "threat level" thing? I didn;t know D2 has aggro meters! Where can I learn more?
The threat level is exactly that. When two minions are at the same distance from an enemy the one with the higher threat level will be assaulted more.
You can find some good info on minions here.

OP:
I've had a great time with an insight golem with my summoner, but he does occasionally need to be tele'd out of trouble. I'd imagine that with only one other minion, you'll burn through insights pretty fast. Keeping a pack of revives might help, though.
Given your description of your plan, I really don't think it will work well for you.
