king of kings??
andAs it happens the UN General Assembly is currently being chaired by a Libyan diplomat, Ali Treki. He had insisted that all heads of state speak for no longer than 15 minutes. But he did not apply this to Gaddafi, who he introduced in neutral style as “king of kings and leader of the revolution.” The Libyan leader rambled on for some 96 minutes, reading off scraps of paper, and throwing the UN schedule into chaos.
Source. It must be admitted that there were also some pretty eccentric statements. Obama could probably have done without being called “our son Obama” by the colonel. (Is he still a colonel?) It was an odd forum in which to call for a fresh inquiry into the Kennedy assassination. And I’m not sure how many people will agree that the H1N1 flu virus is a military weapon.
I'd like more information on this revolution.![]()
He did his best to spoil the 10% truth of his speech with 90% of ridiculous conspiracy theories and egomania, so maybe it was a good idea to let him speak as long as he liked.
Be grateful that it wasn't Fidel Castro, he would have held a 50% truth/50% nonsense speech, but over 6 hours at his best days.
Edit: I forgot quotes around the word "truth".

At least his Swine Flu theory is based on something more than unsubstantiated rumour - Swine Flu first appeared at Fort Dix, New Jersey, in 1976. While Spanish Flu first raised it's ugly head at Fort Riley, Maryland, in 1918.
the UN is a joke.
I'm curious how long it'll take President Obama to realize that.

Translator FAIL. I feel like I'd be better off listening to Gadafi speak in his own language haha
but, back on topic (in the off topic forum?), the UN is nothing other than a bunch of old guys/girls sitting in a room talking about whats wrong with the world these days. They don't really accomplish anything.
and... sanctions? oh lord...
The UN fails because it treats nations with a respect the nations does not return, so they are working on uneven grounds. Which is the same reason the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq isn't going to well.
