Changing the sentence, not sticking to the sentence, sure they're different things, but they amount to the same thing.

So they're different things that "amount to" the same thing? Do you mean that they have the same end result? I want to be sure that I understand what you mean by that.

What do they amount to? (Note that answering this question without clearing up the first thing would be pointless.)

So you say he's in bed and can get let out of prison, since life in bed in his country is just like life in bed in another country right? Then why doesnt he stay where was? If there is no difference why let him go?

I didn't say there wasn't a difference; where did you get that from? You are saying there is a difference, and I'm asking you what it is. You are saying that he should not be let out, and I'm asking you why. It's not my burden to answer the converse of my question.

Again you ask what the benefit is of being bedridden and dying at home or in a foreign country. Well, ask him. He get's to go home, must be something that tickles him. Otherwise he would stay where he was. And if he get rewarded like that (and it IS a reward, or do you still think it makes no difference?) for killing those people I think it's wrong. Whatever the law may say.

Why would I ask him? It was you who said that it would be "better" or "a lesser sentence" if he is allowed to die in his home country. It's fine if you can't justify your assertion, but it's not fine to say there is a good reason and then refuse to give it.

What everyone here seems to have forgotten is that release on compassionate grounds is part of Scottish law, and that law had to be applied.

Just because the U.S. have no such law does not give them the right to dump crap on the Scots.
