Read "The Good News About Depression" if you or a close one suffers from it.

thanks, Bob, but if it talks about going to therapy, i call BS. haha! tried it, didn't work too well for me. my doc was cool (he was a pretty groovy guy) but... i think my therapy is closure with those that have burned me. so far on my list, i have one more person to go, maybe two, but i just found out she has breast cancer, so not gonna do that to her! i probably won't ever do it to her. the only other option i see is proving to her that she made a mistake in judgment that year... and i have a couple of ways of doing it. haha!

BUT... while therapy may not have worked for me, it could possibly work for someone else. all i can say is to try it, find a person that you click with (it took me two tries before clicking with my last doc) and take off from there.

Hah! I've had the same worries! I use to keep things bottled up, cause I thought folks would think I was just some whiny emo kid that couldn't hack it! Having problems that adversely affect you doesn't make you emo, crappy music does!

Haha, I remember this quote on a pic a friend sent me: "EMO: It's like Goth, but for pussies."

Anyways, I never got any kind of help, but I probably should have. I've always fancied myself as an amateur psychologist, so I roughed it. I eventually pulled through it, but I regrettably lost a lot of productive youth in the process.

One thing though is that the whole "a lot of people have it worse than you" argument is completely and absolutely ineffective. If anything, it just worsens the situation, cause it makes the recipient feel even more isolated and alone. Humans are ultimately selfish creatures, especially subconsciously, and when under duress, the plight of others is irrelevant. If anything it just makes you feels worse too if you DO feel for them, cause it's just more wood on the fire. That was one of my problems, unregulated empathy. I was the dog that everyone gave their emotional cold too and I got the flu.

Better that than massive go broke paying for them drugs and electro-therapy.
I know people got treated with both.
    And still alive.
Read the reviews at least, only 6 now

    Thearpy is like Church.
Got to go just to find out what it's about.
But I know and Avoid it now.

that quote is true! ahh, i hate to admit that, but... lol! im sure you have seen South Park... did you see that one episode earlier this year about the Goth kids vs. the Vampire kids? lmao, during the episode, a ball gets thrown their way and some kid grabs it and says to one of his friends, "Hey, So-in-So, it's next those vampire kids." lol, i know that has nothing to do with what i just said, but those "Vampire" kids were pretty much emo wannabes with fake fangs. omg, GREAT episode... i lol'd hardcore.

i remember at this place i used to work out (practically sold my soul over there), i started there a couple months after high school, and i sank into a depression after a couple of weeks working there. it did help to have a few friends i knew from outside the place there; the one in particular i am thinking of i have known since i was 16 and it was nice to see their face there, but when we would have heart to hearts during the slow lunch shift, sometimes he would tell me, "It could always be worse", or, "There are people who have it worse than you"... kinda didn't help when mom told me that too. i do agree, humans are selfish, but the way i see it is it's just natural. we are natural screw-ups and so imperfect among other things. it's just how it is.

When I was a kid, I always tried to pull the Cartman "My special power is to have however many powers I want!" thing, but at least I never tried to do his invisibility trick!
