I was SO overjoyed that my boy went through that same 'phase' for nearly two years. Of course, I was even happier that he went through a disco/funk phase previously (yrs 7-8). Sadly, he's back to modern trash 'pop' now, though he enjoys listening to a critic named Buckley as well as watching the parodies for the songs at least as much as the songs themselves.
Apparently this is his current favorite. At least it's not completely puerile...
My kids are all into punk and dance music.

For some, music is disposable entertainment and nothing more. Nothing wrong with that pov. My sister is nearly 30 and she mostly digs novelty stuff. Music is just background for her - her real interests lie elsewhere.
Oh ****ing hell, that's awful. Pardon me while I soak my eardrums in bleach.

I swear I've posted that song elsewhere too and I dig it. >.> It has a good beat, it's catchy, and the lyrics are amusing to me. Better than what I hear most times on the radio. But it is one that is starting to play on all radio stations (not kidding. The alt. rock station here is playing it. I hate that station even more now) so I have to be aware when I listen to it else I will get sick of it.
Lately, I've been listening to a lot of older metal, in particular Motley Crue, Judas Priest, The Scorpions (thanks, Pandora!![]()
). Also, a lot of 80s stuff in general as THEY TOOK THE 80S STATION AWAY!! >< Actually, as soon as 2010 or 2011 hit, it got turned into a 90s station. I was okay with that because, hey, I love 90s music. Then it started playing "classic" music... "classic" being Incubus, Evanescene, Green Day hits from 5-10 years ago; things that were huge in my early high school days (which was ten years ago now). Then it got changed again to a classic rock station. Houston has horrible music stations. -.- Where was I going with this? Oh right... Listening to older stuff and stuff that isn't played on the radio much.
Bullet for my Valentine just came out with a new album so I'm gonna go listen to that for a while. Mmkay?![]()
If James Brown was the Godfather of Rock and Roll
Sister Rosetta Tharpe was the Godmother of Rock.
At about 1:25 in she wails on the Guitar like only she did back then

I had heard about this for a long while, but never actually <HEARD> it. I think it's a viable new National Anthem.
