Just loaded my good ole DII up once again. This time to have abit of fun before the reset, by making a Sorc using the two in my eyes coolest skills.

I´m going to make a Chainlightning/Hydra Hybrid Sorc.

I know this is going to be difficult as I'll be lacking skills, but with the availability of torches, best uniques and runewords I think it will work.

But I could use some advice here. With my Merc using Infinity, Lightning will be boosted well I recon, sparing some points into Hydra and Fire Mastery.

Should I go with Tals set? Maybe 4 out of 5 for the two elemental bonuses.

I'm not going to be looking too much at MF, so in this case, what kind of advise would you give me.

4 out of 5 Tal's pieces is almost silly, since you get down to the last piece and have to compare a random unique item versus the set item AND the full set bonuses (notably the +3 To Sorceress Skill Levels, +150 To Life
All Resistances +50). 99.9% of the time, the 5th set piece will win that comparison because of those 3 mods alone (though if you add a cold attack you also get +15 more Cold damage from the Orb on top of that).

Just to clarify a point - you wont benefit from -light res on your merc's Infinity. You will benefit from its Conviction aura, but that will boost all your elements equally.
