I have so much low-mid stuff to spring clean and give away that I decided to make a whole send-a-mule account full of mules with stuff.
This project is going to take a while so to make it fun for me and for you I decided that each "mule" would be playable when you "check them out" (of the character "library", one of each class).
Each of them should be able to either Magic Find or aid a party or be otherwise notably unusual in some wacky way.
So far I have an easy magic finding wind Druid ideal for nightmare Cow and Baal running, which you can check out here--clicky!
etdacid is building a meteor-orb sorc there and the 8th character will be my sorc to open any cows (and thus make games for baal runs for chars to not spoil their baal quest) and to enchant and/or do static/conviction unpartied in the field.
I also know what I'm doing for sure with the necro and barb (curses/bone oddball necro build and party bless war cry goldfinder corpse horker barb).
That leaves Paladin, Amazon, and Assassin up in the air so I thought I'd share my thoughts and see what you all suggest. Also feel free to comment on the MF/GF/horker barb equip/M.O. (his specialty is intended to be hell Trav runs).
The Wind Druid has normal and nightmare general magic finding covered pretty well. He can rush norm/nm for folks phenomenally well too. He should never kill nightmare Baal for quest credit. No Hell for him!
edtacid's meteorb sorc probably overlaps that for act boss swift tele kills--I don't know if he intends on also doing some runs in hell (though I imagine stopping before getting credit for hell Meph makes sense because then hell Andy/Summoner/Duriel/Meph would be one game run w/3x quest drops).
My Barb should work well in hell Trav Council MF/GF runs (and trivially so in nm, for those wanting to get the hang of it) and also be very useful anywhere for party play (shout, BO, warcry, Howl, etc., hork).
My Enchantress will quickly get nightmare and hell wirt legs to open cows as well as conveniently making games in which you can't spoil your quest credit drops from act bosses (commonly Baal but also Diablo and Meph matter). If I make an Infinity for her she could run around, unpartied, helping out with Static and Conviction.
My Necro I won't say alot about now, since it is a very uncommon build. Aside from, like the Barb and Enchantress, being very helpful to parties (with CC = Crowd Control curses), he is designed to do solo hell quest drop assassinations (a very odd thing for a necro build and this may turn out to be the hardest character here for people to get the hang of).
The Paladin is problematic, because I'm very reluctant to just clone my primary, which is a fantastic BH/smite tank, even though this is very useful (and Concentration or Blessed Aim or Vigor are party friendly), simply because BH players are everywhere and I suspect the majority of people have tried this build themselves.
I'm slightly more tempted by Vengeance/Conviction but I think the Enchantress with Infinity is more party friendly. I'm tempted to revisit the Holy Bolt/Sanctury MF hell Pindle run build (I wrote about this when v1.10beta first came out when you could use an act 1 merc with Kuko and also get Knockback from the explosive arrow splash--nothing ever got near you!).
Paladins focusing on Sacrifice, Charge, or Convert, with auras for party play like the resist (+max resists!) line also seem interesting. Let me know what you think.
For the Zon I have about six different thoughts, some of which do not work together in one character build, so I definitely need some discussion here as to what people would actually enjoy using...
A zon doing Lightning Fury is just fantastic in normal and nightmare cows helping people level to the "breakpoints" (25/40/60). This is pretty cookie cutter but maybe what people would really need?
A zon focused on using multishot does really well with enchant and PMH (ez enchant if playing with another forum member--as long as you have 2 CDkeys nothing prevents you from playing more than one character on an account FYI; note only one player per account is allowed in the character/game/chat screens at a time). Prevent Monster Heal is, unlike other effects, carried on *all* of the multishot arrows, not just the middle two. This zon is pretty good for party play since she puts out a lot of damage but could use help with CC.
A zon with the huge number of cold charms I've stockpiled would easily be able to allows use freezing arrow for ~10 seconds of freeze on anything that can be frozen. Forests of Icicles are very welcome in party play .
Strafe and Jab are the obvious boss killer via Crushing blow skills (but I don't think we need another boss killer in the account, eh?). Max'ed Valkerie is a lot of fun. Huge poison clouds are entertaining. Decoy is very unpartied twink friendly (the monsters attack the Decoy so this is a little like Necro Dim Vision or Assassin CoS except that it doesn't take up the monster-cursed slot--for example the zon could carry wands with Lifetap charges).
All of these zon ideas have merit but again what would people really like/need?
The sin is an interesting case. People often get annoyed with CoS or Mindblast, but they are very party (or unpartied twink) friendly. LS/DS/Infinity make for some really amazing MF opportunities. Many of the Martial Arts skills are very fun to play. Watching a high level Shadow Master is like watching a hyperactive ant farm (and with an Enchant she actually can kill things).
For completely naked (new ladder, no-twinks) chars I know of no faster self-rush class/build than a well played BoS/FireBlast/Wake-of-Fire. But I'm not sure how showcasing that works out in a twink/MF account "library" like this. (edit: self-rush for bootstrap pwnage of *normal*--I am aware the build starts to suck in nightmare)
Blade Fury is a trigger-gear-proc-effects dream skill. Dragon Talon kicks with Crushing Blow and Fade make a basis for some of the best Boss killing builds around. AFAIK a properly built sin would be a better/faster solo torch runner than the (more common) Pally smiter builds (both kill any boss really fast but the sin has native skills CoS/MB for awesome crowd control).
So again, what do people really want/need?
What would you enjoy playing to help get the character/build leveled up so other folks could use 'em (I doubt I have time to quickly finish all this by myself, eh? )
