Which is better....4xLo Shield or 4x Ptopaz shield?

Which is better actually? 4Lo shield or 4Ptopaz shield?

If you have enough stack then 4x Lo. But as you mention FoH you'll probably need stack more than high max res so 4x P topaz.

The 4x topaz will be better in most cases, unless your build has stacked a lot of extra lightning resistance from other sources. You need to have enough resistance to counter his massive -res (that he gets from conviction and items) otherwise adding to your maximum resistance is totally useless.

Well, a FoH paladin will have -125% res from conviction Griffons can give up to -25% light res and a FoH stick can give another -25% so check your res, Another facet is possible in Shield (if HoZ, dont know which is preffered, HoZ or Spirit) armour is going to be enigma I guess so no Facet there.. Have you got 175%-180% light res stack without the shield? without Anya scrolls, that is... If you can manage that stack + another 20% then 4*Lo shield will be the best. However if you can't get that stacked res what good is it to raise your resistance cap if you only have 50% res after all the negatives?

Sum up your stack, see how many PTopazes you need to add to get a maximum stack and then add Los, remember you need 5% more light res for every Lo...

The biggest -light res you will encounter from sorcs are Infinity wielders that can get 85% (Conviction) + 55% (Infinity) + 25% (Griffons) a few facets is possible to get into the rest of the gear too, 3 at the most if using Eschutas/Wiz spike, Unique armour and Stormshield. More is possible, especially in shield (JMoD or plain monarch, HHs Glory, Mosers..) but since the mastery part of the facets is not that awsome since it stacks with LM lets just count 3 facets as a maximum. Then you get -180%. So it's roughly the same as the FoHers.

This is ofc asuming perfect rolls on the -ELR% on Griffons and Infinity which will be very expensive but the are some rich buggers out there, so you'd better get your stack up...
