I manage to get 2,000,000 gold from level 1 to level 76 with my fury werewolf!!!
And im playing for days!

well, these are specialist chrs. read the rest of this thread. you will see, in the first post by purplelocust, a list of links, read through some of those as well.

a normal questing chr wont see more than a few million right through the game.

I've yet to re-equip my barb and give it a spin but I think I might soon. He's clvl 92 so I don't have to mule the gold off to another char to have 100% chance at having a high-enough ilvl for +2 charskill to spawn when gambling circlets.

Took my barb out for another spin after upping my merc weapon (hone sundan). Expected some improvement. But that didn't happen. With only 4.781.988 it's even below average.
Still two highlights:
#1 I completed more runs then before so with some luck it should result in more cash
#2 And more importantly i horked a gul rune. Didn't take the time for a screenie to get a good result, but as mentioned above that didn't happen. But somehow i didn't care too much about that

I'll try improving my score later and probably give the tele amu a chance because the last try i did have some trouble positioning my merc.

Wow, a Gul! Well done! There definitely is some significant random variation with the gold totals- hopefully adding up over 30 minutes will tend to balance some of that out.

Tried my frenzybarb out, no runs above 500k sadly. Had one death to FELECE Geleb, and one aborted run due to conviction (the might/fanat set posed no problems at all)

I put myself in the table according to "best run", not "average run"

First try, one death which I suppose cost me a run.

Edit: 8.272.207 second try, no deaths but worse outcome despite I felt I was playing better.

Not doing too bad for an Oath build though, I didn't even use Fortitude this time around as I think they die fast enough on p3. GF-wise I could get an additional 190 from making lem crystal swords and putting a lem in my Crown of Thieves, but I'm lazy

I felt like killing some council, so I gave this another run. Much safer at level93, and having Death (instead of Oath) definitely made a difference in power. I probably added more leech since my last runs too, but can't remember my pre-Pindlethon setup. I think I'll make one more run at this, since I forgot about the +Dex on Crown of Theives and lower requirements on Death, and therefore had a +Str/+Dex ring instead of a Dwarfstar. The merc died a couple of times too (Conviction aura), which slowed me down and cost me some dough. My horking was probably slightly subpar too, so I'm hoping with a little luck I can crest 6M.

After the next run though, I'll probably retire from this tournament (with this character, at least; though I might consider another run with an upcoming build I have). But at level93 with Igor, when my stash gets full I'm going to gamble it since it doesn't really make sense for me to mule it anymore. It's simply not time efficient to mule gold at this point, and gambling mid-run doesn't make sense within the context of this tournament.

Edit: Only noteworthy find this time was a 3/3 Poison Facet.

Edit2: Finished the 4th (and last) run. Would've made it to 6M if I hadn't died once, aborted once, and had two merc resurrections. Oh well, my horking was much better this time, so I guess that makes up for it somewhat.

No good drops this time, but I've got time some $$$ to gamble now.

I will enter the tourney with a WW barb (grief/oath), as soon as he gains some levels in the pits. For the time being some test running has shown promising results (95% of runs are more than 400K and some on the 600+ range), but I really do not think he can top the warcry build (at least with the stuff I have available).

disadvantages:

a) Inherently less GF than the warcry build when killing
b) Impossible situations (mostly conviction). Unless of course at higher levels and with a ebeastz / egriefz combo like the one Jaedhann has these are possible as well. Stacking resists seems a possibility as well if you can get the extra AR from beast and lose some ar/gf charms.
c) Less run control. With Warcry you can check the mods of the superuniques and act accordingly. With WW, FE/LE Geleb is more of a danger.

advantages:

a) It is possible to level him swapping equipment on lvl85 /p8 areas, so he can get to 90+ before concentrating on the council
b) Can run at /p3
c) Horks at max GF (has wealth on and even has more gf from charms than SMDII), which at least gives a shot to the largest pile bragging rights

Although I would like to see a category in which your not allowed to sell items in. In other words your only allowed to pick up piles of gold for 30 min.

Why make a special category for a rule that allows you to gather more gold? I say join the tourney as is

Do not tell anyone, but selling items is actually inefficient.
