Hey, Im lucas and Im a new member. I´ve played DII for many years and stopped for a while but 2 weeks ago I started once again. My question is: can I keep my Paladin that is from DII original version and use it for LOD? If the answer is "yes" what do i need to do? I do have my character saved in my PC. Thanks a lot!
Yes you can use your Paladin drom DII (classic) in DII:LOD.
When you install the LOD game, you will hae the ability to upgrade classic characters to LOD characters. There will be a checkbox on the screen where all the characters are, if I remember right.
Please be advised that this is a one way tickeet... meaning that once you convert a classic character to a LOD character, this cannot be undone.
You should also backup your "saves" folder to a memory stick every now and then, just in case something goes wrong.Rename it to "save dd-mm-yy "so you know which backup was done when.
If you do this regularily, and you, say ,messed up your build at some point, you can wipe that character out and copy the backed up character files to your D2 save folder. It can save one a lot of time!
Just note that what The Sandcat suggests is good in case of hard drive failure. However if you are going to replace the current copy with the backups because of a mistake made ingame (wrong skill point allocation for example) then that is not allowed in our SPF. What you do on your own computer is up to you, but if you intend to join the SPF and participate in MP/trading there then you need to keep that in mind.
I am talking SP offline only.Anyway, what do you call us guys who only play SP offline? SPO's?Any suggestions?
SPer: Single Player
Normally just written "I play SP" though.
