There are enough morons out there though stegy
Yeah, TL was a bit of a disappointment for me, too. I'm also a stat-point hoarder :P.
I did the same in Titan Quest as well.
I would have still given TL2 a fling though, but not anymore now that D3's coming out before it :P. I may play TL2 eventually, but it'd be very, very far down the line, I would imagine. @_@
They were aiming to get it out before D3, but unfortunately for them they failed. I wonder how much it will hurt their profit.
Despite them saying that D3 won't hurt their profits, I kinda have to disagree.
Max Schaefer used FPSs as an example, but to me, FPS games are like run-of-the-mill hollywood blockbuster flicks. You enjoy the ride, and then move on to the next one.
To me, an Action RPG is much more of a commitment.
I agree, there are certain FPS titles that buck the trend, but the CoD series particularly ....
It's such a pity because of how big the A-RPG drought was. I was waiting on Grim Dawn, or TL2, or PoE...I would have played any of those if they'd just come out sooner!
It is funny how they are all coming out around the same time.
Iknowrite? Makes me a sad panda. It's like everyone got the same idea at about the same time.
I think they all were waiting for the MMO craze to die down. WoW and the like was eating up so much "gamer time" in general that there wasn't a lot of room in the market.
Now with WoW ending its lifecycle, or dead already depending on your perspective, there is room in the RPG market for something different.
I think games like SWTOR are showing that you can't re-dress a MMO, people just get burned out of the grind no matter how good the story is.
So MMO goes to resting period and ARPG gets to shine for a few years.
Long live the ARPG!
I think tl2 would have done phenomenally better if it was before D3, sane with poe.
