No, I'm kidding. I have no idea when Diablo III will come out.

My release date: June 28 2011
Bashiok has stated on the official forums that the game is still under 'heavy development'. (About the build shown at Gamescom yday)
The inventory still needs some work, and the rune abilities cannot be used in this demo, as some journalist pointed out, meaning a lot of game facets are still under heavy work.
And looks like we are just beginning to see Act 2, with next year's Blizzcon probably rounding off both acts 3 and 4. I also doubt they will release both remaining classes this year, if they show one at all. And then AFTER they show the remaining acts and final class/es, the game has to go into Beta, which takes a lot of preparation, testing time, and feedback time, and probably last minute changes which take more time. Blizzard love to take their time, we all know that :P:P
I just hope this Blizzcon isnt a huge disappointment. *sigh*
For me a nice release date would be February 2010, their 20th anniversary of their founding.
But REALISTICALLY, looking at their recent failures on any of their game's or patches' deadlines of all franchises .... mid to end 2011. Not earlier. I would bet my money on it. There's a bigger chance SC2 and a WOW expansion come out in 2010.
Look at how long SC2 fans have been waiting, and it was promised this year, but its a no go. Dont expect D3 to fare any better, call me a pessimist, whatever!
Oh, and Blizzard wouldnt DARE to give us a release date after the SC2 and D2 patch fiascos .... if they do, I will simply add a +200% modifier on top of it.

As you've pointed out later, even the internal beta-phase can be considered heavy developement...
Or they just don't want us to see, what they got together already. Don't forget: As the first demo last year, this one is scripted and polished for the two cons. It may even be they've running a different demo on Blizzcon. The inventory still needs some work, and the rune abilities cannot be used in this demo, as some journalist pointed out, meaning a lot of game facets are still under heavy work.
What made you think the areal shown is from the 2nd act? Because the Act2 of D2 was set in a desert-region? Duh...And looks like we are just beginning to see Act 2, [...]
The only real (and acceptable) argument you brought here. But REALISTICALLY, looking at their recent failures on any of their game's or patches' deadlines of all franchises .... mid to end 2011. Not earlier. I would bet my money on it. There's a bigger chance SC2 and a WOW expansion come out in 2010.

KK... my estimation was based on the logic possibility, that a certain rumor may hold truth. So it's far from beeing solid. But it was not the first rumor about a 2009-release as internal target. And there are also rumors around for a while, stating that Blizzard plans to release the game before even given out any releasedate. As the final surprise for us hyped herd of fanbois.
Don't deny something just because it sounds ridicule for yee. It's speculationtime out here, anything is possible and no one knows, how far they really are.

Are you implying the game is in beta phase right now? No way. Beta phase is when its ready to be released for public testing, Blizzard's policy is not to keep internal Betas but put them on PTR's for fans to play and test.
Yes, a big duuh. So far it seems they are keeping a similar structure to D2. Also it makes sense to show Act 1 and then Act 2, not Act 3 and then Act 5 and then back to Act1, maybe? Duuh
In fact, if I dont see jungles I will be very upset :( I hate deserts and Lut Gholein and wish they didnt include them, but anyway thats a personal and irrelevant thing I just felt like adding though
Hardly
I wasnt replying to your post or denying anything ... In fact I dont know what you are talking about. I was replying to the thread title as an independent post.
And we've had millions of D3 release date rumors ... all fake. So please... Shhh
Like I said, be logical and realistic. Look at the trend of development schedule they follow. They take things very easy, which is OK in a way if the final product is super top notch and worth the wait.
BUT ... we are in for a loooong wait brother.
The rumor I've mentioned (originating form a Blizz-Europe-employee, as it said) mentioned an internal beta already running. Also, albeit 1.10-patch of D2, there weren't any open betas for this game-universe yet. Blizz North is no more, but the difference in handling may still apply...
Yeahh, it makes it seem so. But Blizzard is now newbee in decent marketing-propaganda. And building up a game like it's predecessor is a bad marketing-propaganda. Making it seem so previously to release is not. As far as we know it could even just be a later part of act 1.Yes, a big duuh. So far it seems they are keeping a similar structure to D2. Also it makes sense to show Act 1 and then Act 2, not Act 3 and then Act 5 and then back to Act1, maybe? Duuh
I'm totally with you there. But I also would like to see a "normal" deep forest areal, together with other areals unfamiliar in the Sanctuario-universe up to now.In fact, if I dont see jungles I will be very upset :( [...]
That I knew. I'm sorry I haven't pointed that out in my previous post. If you want to reread what I've posted, it's only one to one and a half pages above.I wasnt replying to your post or denying anything [...]
Edit: Oh yeah, you ARE denying. You're denying the possibility that Blizzard is further in developement that they let us think...
One rumor is definitively fake. A dozen rumors, together with the officially released (sometimes seemingly unconnected) infos can give you a hint (and nothing more, yep) to what's really going on.And we've had millions of D3 release date rumors ... all fake. So please... Shhh
Like i said: We're in a time of speculation. There are only few facts around and a lot of rumors, so it's more like building up a conspiracy theory when talking of future developement. But you're right. I'm thinking more of possibilities than to sceptically argue anything down: The world becomes bad enough by itself. No need to speed up the process...Like I said, be logical and realistic. Look at the trend of development schedule they follow. They take things very easy, which is OK in a way if the final product is super top notch and worth the wait.
BUT ... we are in for a loooong wait brother.
As to realism: It all comes down to the marketing-strategy. And there I see only a few, tiny bits of info, where there should have been many big pieces available. Considering that Blizzard tends to announce their games only if they're at least halveway solid, it indicates a closure on info up to release, or perhaps open beta. Although I wonder if they just simply use release to finalize the internal one, thus concentrating on a heavy patchwork-phase afterwards (... as they did with D2 and LoD).
Nothing is forbidden. Anything goes. That's speculationtime for you... [place jingle here]
