That's my second favorite track in the game. The other is the track that plays when in a cave map. I usually keep the music muted when playing online but it's an essential element to my SP experience.

You make an interesting point. I play on bnet most of the time. But recently i started playing tournies on SP. I need to turn the music up methinks, i don't actually know what the d2 music sounds like. Except ofcourse the infamous tristram music.

I like the harem song a lot, and the dungeons theme is also very nice, as mentioned above.
I wish Blizzard would have expanded that harem part, bringing some of the women back from the dead to attack you. I know zombie prostitutes, but they would attack you like those corrupted rogues.

But Tristramīs theme, is still the best in my preferences.

So, WHY is there a Hindu chant in Lut Gholein? The desert area would be more typical of the Middle East

I am guessing they just used Hindus as some source of inspiration when they made up Lut Gholein and tried to tie up it with Sanctuary itself (the world of Diablo as a whole).

Similiarly I've been wondering did they use finns and their (typically, that is) getting wasted drinking style as some inspiration for barbarians as manual's explanation says about taunt that: "It is this ability that causes Barbarian's to have poor reputation as drinking partners." and one gossip line from Larzuk involves asking did you bring any ales along
