I've spent my some time building characters and loot in NL, and even with talk of very few public games, I found there to be QUITE few public games. So, I made a Ladder character to check the public status, and sure enough, the list is huge. I have never seen the point in playing Ladder. Isn't it too late? I understand it's possible to play without competing for a ranking, but if that's what you're doing, why play Ladder at all? I'm thinking now that my time has been wasted, and I must begin anew on Ladder if I hope to interact with other people.
The new ladder season started in mid June. Its the begining of September right now so its only been like 3 months into the new season. Considering the resets have been at around a year and this could possibly be the last season before D3 is released (heh heh, don't hold your breath) you have time.
Activision stated that SCII is set to come out 2009. If DIII is set to come out any time after that...you've got some ladder time.![]()
Anyways the fact that everyone starts from 0 is reason enough for playing ladder. Also if you start at the reset it is nice to compete at the ladder standings for a while before people that play more go past you :P
I meant that in the sense of why you should go ladder right now, not why people in general go ladder at the start of the season if they're not chasing a rank.
Indeed. This, plus ladder only RWs/items, is why the bulk of the population goes ladder on reset day. Not to congregate in the shadows of the coat tails of giantsAnyways the fact that everyone starts from 0 is reason enough for playing ladder. Also if you start at the reset it is nice to compete at the ladder standings for a while before people that play more go past you :P
Then the HC population is too small to be split, so everyone else just kind of breaks down and follows suit, regardless of if they wanted to or not, because the alternative is singleplayer.
