My mfer turned dueler hammerdin does an average of 12k per casted hammer and the first couple of games I joined everyone was like this: "noob! hdins are for nubs!"
It's sort of like running a chaos game and pretending the players are those caster demon knights...they're gonna end up dead, regardless :P
I've been having a lot of success with this guy since I'm used to handling him as he is my main mfer/key runner/rusher all around guy. And unlike my other two duelers, can actually kill people with mods.
quite frankly, I consider mods as BM and stacked sorb to be incredibly BM.
as a side note, I really hate those FC zons.
Any character can be GM or BM depending on how you play them.
hammerdins aren't "bm" in and of themselves, but many people consider them to be so overpowered that only "noobs" need to use them to win.
and yes, mods and stacked sorb are definatly BM (please note here that one of the many advantages a hammerdin has, one of them is their ability to pile on ridiculous amounts of sorb gear with no reduction in their effectivness. just about every other class will nerf something (usually damage) in order to get the stacked sorb).
hammerdins aren't "bm". they are, however, extremely cheesy and the first choice of the clueless for pvp.
If only they were...
meph hit it right on the head, as always.
Eh, I've never had too much of an issue with hdins. I see a lot of them of course, and the mediocre/average ones usually I have no problem killing pretty consistantly. I've only seen a few really good ones so far in pubs, ones that desync well and know how to use strategy and adapt, and those duels are usually pretty fun - difficult, long, and sometimes pretty frustrating, but fun. I actually managed to run out of javs in one of them, from a full stack of titans D=
Some characters can't handle hdins very well at all, but if you build a character with a completely one-dimensional mindset and can't adapt, that's not the hammerdin's fault.
They're a good character, but there are characters that actually have a big advantage over them. Windies, at the least that I know of.
A well played and geared hammerdin are very very hard to kill.
The thing with hammerdins, as everyone has said already is that any idiot who can click a mouse button can score kills with them an dont really require any skill to do so.
BM- Of course not. They obviously can be BM when played as such, or when equipped with overly-sorbing gear, but in and of themselves they aren't bm.
Boring and Lame- Oh yea. Since everybody has a hammerdin, lots of people get tired of dueling them. Also, I've noticed more people BM with hammerdins than with others, as they are impossible to nullify and difficult to beat.
Some people just get tired of fighting the same character over and over and over again.
Hdins can use alot of offmap-vigorcharges to desync .. this is probably the only BM-thing.
Ofc any char can use full-absorb, but this has nothing to do with the hdin himself. I never lost a Best-of-9 against hdin with my boner. Most druids and 95% ES Sorcs will kick their *** as well. But never the less a good hammerdin is a strong char who can kill most ppl. Somebody who does not know how to fight against desync will die for sure.
I don't think someone using a hammerdin is bm, unless ofc they choose to be. Usually when they don't I have a really fun time killing them repetedly, until they leave the game in frustration or starts to bm
Btw I'm using a pure trapper against hammerdins, and it works great.
