Everybody is entitled to their own opinion on a game, but I find it incomprehensible how people can find something deliberately implemented in the game to be a "cheat".
You might as well consider using Kensai as cheating, because they can use magic weapons in the game.
Yeah, it's really too bad they split up. Bioware is good at the creating game engines and interface, but they seriously suck at RPG dialogues. Take Jade Empire for example: great game, great concept, awesome gameplay, decent graphics... and romance dialogues that made me shudder (not in the good way, either). Same thing with NWN. Compare the dialogues in HotU with BG2, and you'll see the huge difference in quality.I recently started playing Planescape: Torment, it's the only oldschool dnd game I haven't played (I actually played the rest when they were brand new :| ). It's amazing. The story is better than most books I've read. With some player made fixes and a resolution tweak it looks great, too. Black Isle games really are the best. Baldur's Gate 2, Icewind Dale 1 and 2 are up next.
Well, the cloud kill wand was implemented, yet it's the most easily abuse-able spell in game. I see Yoshimos traps and the Wand of Cloudkill abuse as bugs, they can both be used in ways the game creators did not intend.
I don't know how many times I killed Firkraag with that Wand of Cloudkill to get that early avenger.
Improved Firkraag (IIRC with that mod all dragons are buffed) is a lot tougher. Trap him and he starts combat.Basically, you should not be able to kill the dragons early on. Only after you come back to the city should go go to a dragon hunt trip and the buffed up versions fit perfectly.
